We don't just stock sport floor mats, though - we offer everything else you need to equip your gym, including gym floor covers, runners, wall and pole pads, and many more accessories. Our sports floor mat selection includes products that can be used for both indoor and outdoor installation. Most of our products are designed to make installation easy - some are even suitable as DIY projects - in order to save you money and time.

We've outlined a few of our most popular athletic mats below to help you get started in planning out your gym flooring project.

Weight Training Athletic Floors

Most weight training facilities use rubber flooring because of its strength, durability, and excellent performance. Rubber is strong enough to withstand the significant weight of gym equipment, and it even helps to reduce the noise of free weights and machines clanging in your gym. This, paired with the fact that rubber can insulate the gym against cold subfloors, makes for a more enjoyable workout environment. Additionally, rubber is strong enough to help protect your subfloor from damage from dropped weights.

Our rubber sports flooring is available in three different forms - interlocking tiles, straight edge mats, and rolled rubber - so you can choose the product that's best for your specific project.
  • Rolled rubber athletic floors are the most economical rubber flooring option, especially when you're flooring an entire room or a larger space. Rolled rubber creates fewer seams in your finished flooring than you would see with rubber tiles, and the recycled rubber material used will last for decades. Rubber rolls are heavy, though, so make sure that you have multiple people to help you with the installation.
  • Straight edge mats are designed to add extra protection and durability to high-impact areas, like Olympic lifting platforms. They're much thicker than rubber rolls, so they are capable of absorbing more shock in order to prevent damage to your subfloor. These mats are often used on top of an existing flooring to add protection to high-traffic or high-impact areas, like the spaces underneath gym equipment. They're very heavy, so you'll need help getting them into place, but the mats' weight helps to keep them from shifting.
  • Interlocking rubber tiles are the most versatile rubber flooring option available. You can choose from a variety of thicknesses and sizes, depending on how you'll be using the tiles. Many people choose tiles for smaller-scale projects, because the tiles are easy to transport and install even in smaller spaces.
Since rubber tiles are conveniently sized squares or rectangles, they're much lighter than the other rubber flooring options. They're also more manageable. A single person can install rubber flooring tiles on their own, saving time and making for a simplified installation. Rubber tiles also result in less wasted material for wall-to-wall installations than you'll be left with if you're working with larger rubber rolls. Interlocking tiles don't require adhesive, so you can dry lay the tiles just by pushing their seams together. Some rubber floor tiles even feature pin connectors for a secure, tight fit that won't separate during use.

Martial Arts Sports Flooring

If you're looking for martial arts mats, you've come to the right place - Greatmats is one of the top martial arts flooring sources in the United States. Within our huge selection of martial arts mats you'll find products that have been specifically designed to meed the needs of different martial arts forms. While almost all of these mats are made of foam, they feature different densities, hardnesses, thicknesses, surface textures, foam types, and sizes. Thanks to this variety, the mats are suited for different martial arts styles.

  1. For striking arts, such as Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Boxing or Kickboxing, consider our line of athletic mats that are slightly thinner and firmer than other foam sports flooring.
  2. For martial arts styles involving floor work, such as Grappling, Jiu Jitsu, BJJ and Wrestling, our ground sport mats feature surfaces that won't burn your skin.
  3. For throwing arts such as judo, aikido or hapkido, we have plenty of mats designed to absorb impact, making for safer landings. Some MMA mats even offer ASTM critical fall height ratings.
Our martial arts mats are mainly puzzle mats, though we have athletic mats in roll out, folding, and large straight edge designs. Because puzzle mats have interlocking edges, they're easy to install. For larger professional facilities, our 1x1 meter puzzle mats are a practical solution. If you're looking for something for home use, our 2x2 foot size puzzle mats are a much more manageable size.

We only offer sport floor mats that are of the highest quality, and we're proud to stand behind our selection. These mats are suitable for both the amateur and the professional. Our Greatmats Martial Arts Mats are used in professional and amateur martial arts tournament circuits all over the country. They're also present in gyms of world champion martial arts athletes such as BJJ legends Rodrigo 'Comprido' Medeiros and Rafael Ellwanger as well as karate legend Fumio Demura.

Basketball Court Flooring

When it comes to basketball court flooring, Greatmats offers many practical options, including a few modular tile products that can be removed in the future if needed.

If you're creating an indoor basketball floor, our 1x1 foot snap together modular tiles may be a great choice. These tiles all have raised plastic bases and can be installed on any hard, flat surface, you'll have plenty of versatility. Some of these tiles have wood-grain patterned vinyl surfaces. Others feature a smooth plastic surface. Because the tiles snap together, installation is easy and fast. Creating your basketball court can even be a DIY project.

Our perforated snap together tiles make a popular option for outdoor or backyard basketball courts. These tiles have a perforated design, so rainwater flows right through the tile, rather than pooling on top. Thanks to this design, the non-slip surface stays relatively dry and safe, and you can start using the court again soon after a heavy rain. Because the tiles are perforated, air can also flow through the tile to speed drying. This helps to prevent the growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria.

You may also want to consider our rubber-backed vinyl roll. This vinyl flooring has a surface that looks just like a genuine woodgrain court. You can even paint court lines onto this flooring.
