Artificial Grass for Around Pools

Our turf creates a softer surface than bare concrete, and it’s more pleasing to the eye as well. Versus actual grass, our roll of artificial turf holds its color all year round, and splashing chlorinated water on the faux turf will not affect it.

Size and Shape Options

With our pool deck turf, customers can select a roll of turf to cover a large space for a reasonable price. Our rolls typically measure 15 feet in width. Customers can then select a custom cut length, or they can order a full roll of 100 feet in length.

We also offer pre-cut mats in sizes ranging between 4x6 feet and 9x12 feet.

To select the best size of artificial grass, think about the space around either the in-ground, in-deck, or above-ground pool that needs covering. It also works for a patio area near the pool.

Try to select a size that covers the desired space and will surround the pool. Understand, however, that the large rolls will be heavy and awkward to move into place. Most rolls weigh about 0.5 pounds per square foot of coverage.

You can select among varying thicknesses of these mats, typically between 1-1/4 and 1-3/4 inches. Thicker mats will have a taller pile height, providing a little more cushioning, which is nice when walking across the turf with bare feet.

Material Options

Our synthetic pool deck turf is extremely durable. Many of these products carry a limited manufacturer warranty of a decade or more. Most of them are made in the USA, which means customers can trust the quality of the materials used.

The blades of faux grass make up the top layer. These materials usually consist of polyethylene, giving a realistic look to the roll of grass.

The backing layer is typically a woven polypropylene material that holds the individual blades of faux grass in place. Some of the rolls include a SilverBack polyurethane coating that helps to tightly hold the blades in place.

Pattern and Texture Options

The majority of our pool deck turf options will be available in green. This is a common color for artificial turf, as the green color most closely approximates the colors of real grass.

Some of our rolls have color options other than green. For those who want to give the pool area a unique look, select among colors such as:
  • Black
  • Blue
  • Red
  • White
  • Yellow

Common Use Options

Frequently, installers will place this turf around their swimming pools, creating a comfortable place to walk.

Customers will also make use of these rolls and mats of faux turf to create comfortable areas for gathering. Installers may choose to place the turf on a patio sitting area or over the top of an existing deck, creating a unique look.

Children’s playground areas are also common places to find this artificial playground turf, as the turf will provide a safer place for kids to run and play than gravel or ground with weeds and ruts.

People who are camping or going to a tailgate party at the stadium may place these mats of turf in the sitting area, making the space more inviting and comfortable.

Installation Options

To install the pool deck turf, customers have a few options. They can dry lay the turf over a firm surface, such as concrete or dirt.

If going over concrete or an old wood deck, installers may want to glue the turf down, ensuring it will not slide around. In certain cases, it may be possible to use dual-sided tape to hold the roll of turf tight to the ground.

If going over dirt, installers can pin the turf to the ground. For a more secure installation, it’s also possible to bury treated lumber around the perimeter of the layout and pin the turf to the lumber.

Cleaning and Maintenance Requirements

Artificial turf has minimal maintenance requirements and is easy to clean, making it a popular choice in leisure areas.

The benefit of our pool deck turf versus real grass is that it does not need any maintenance, such as watering, mowing, fertilizing, or weeding. Using this turf in the area near the pool gives you more time to enjoy the pool by spending less time taking care of the grass.

Because the synthetic grass is typically used outdoors, where it surrounds a pool, customers can just rinse the turf with a garden hose and spray nozzle to clean it.

Customers also have the option of vacuuming the turf for a more thorough cleaning or to remove solid debris that is buried in the turf blades. Such debris could feel sharp on bare feet as swimmers walk near the pool, so a vacuum provides the best method of removing these items.
