Rubber flooring for commercial installations, rubber mats and tiles, sheeting

Rubber is a popular selection for floors at commercial and industrial locations, as it is highly durable, while delivering cushioning and safety. Commercial rubber flooring from Greatmats has a reasonable cost per square foot and is easy to install.

We have a large number of rubber flooring options that will work as a main floor in a gym or healthcare facility, as an underlayment for a gymnast or cheer facility, or as mats in a restaurant or industrial kitchen.

The options for using commercial rubber flooring are almost endless.

Size and Shape Options

The most common shipping option for commercial rubber flooring for large layouts will be in rolls. This is an economical option for delivering this style of floor, while also allowing the installer to cover a large amount of space quickly.

Rolls can be extremely heavy, though, so we do offer other formats. Interlocking rubber tiles are a great way to set up a garage with a highly durable floor. We also offer flat-edge tiles that require an adhesive to securely connect them to the subfloor.

Another option in an industrial, factory, or kitchen setting is a pre-cut mat. This will deliver anti fatigue properties for people who must stand for the entire day of work. Some of the mats have perforations to allow spilled liquids and powders to drain away.

Material Options

Because of the impressive durability that rubber offers, it is a good choice for locations where the flooring must stand up to tough conditions. That’s why many of our customers for these commercial rubber flooring options are factories, hospitals, schools, government buildings, and industrial facilities.

However, we also offer high grade styles that are ideal for places like corporate settings, hospitality areas, retail locations, and office buildings.

Rubber flooring is highly popular in athletic facilities and gymnasiums as well. It gives athletes a sure footing as they make quick movements during workouts, while reducing noise generation by preventing echoing.

Pattern and Texture Options

Rolls of commercial rubber flooring primarily use a flat top surface layer. Rubber naturally gives traction to people walking on it or using it, so textured patterns are not common.

However, we do offer some forms of rubber tiles made for commercial, business, and industrial locations that have a slightly textured surface.

The majority of rolls of rubber and rubber tiles have a black base color. Some models include fleck colors that stand out against the black.

Regarding color options, we also have some high end rubber tiles that are available in multiple neutral base colors, such as blue, gray, and brown. Some of these tiles include contrasting color flecks too.

For rubber anti fatigue mats, you can select from textured surfaces, smooth surfaces, and perforated designs. These mats frequently appear in black only, but some standing fatigue mats are brick red in color. Others include a yellow safety strip at the edges to contrast with the black.

Common Use Options

You can use these rolls, mats, and tiles as the primary flooring in a gymnasium, in an industrial location, in a factory, or in a retail or business setting. They can stand up to regular foot traffic, and they will support the weight of furniture or workout equipment.

The primary use case for pre-sized standing fatigue mats will be in any location where people must stand for long periods of time to do a job. This could be in a restaurant or an industrial kitchen. You also could place these mats along an assembly line or at a standing workstation.

If you have concerns about spills, add a standing mat that has perforated holes. Spills then would fall through the mat to the subfloor, moving toward a floor drain.

Installation Options

When installing commercial rubber flooring, you will have a few different options.

For locations where you want to be able to move the rubber floor or mats, do not use adhesive. The weight of the rolls of rubber or of the mats should hold them in place.

With square rubber flooring tiles, you will need to make use of glue to adhere them to the subfloor. For a permanent install of rolls of rubber, glue them to the subfloor too. Always allow the rubber tiles or rolls to adjust to the temperature and humidity of the room before gluing them in place.

Cleaning and Maintenance Requirements

Rubber mats and flooring used in a commercial environment need to be easy to clean and maintain.

To clean an entire floor or a removable mat, sweep any dry debris away from the surface of the rubber material. You can use a vacuum cleaner as well.

For locations without a floor drain, you should mop the rubber with a neutral pH cleaner and allow it to air dry.

If the rubber flooring is in an area with a floor drain, washing the floor with a hose or with a pressure washer is an efficient way to clean it. Again, allow it to air dry.

If you can carry the mats outside to wash them, this is a good option too.
