SilentTread is a nationally recognized brand of sound reduction underlayment for commercial and residential flooring underlayment options. Acoustical underlayment for use in residential applications involving laminate, hardwood and engineered wood flooring. 1/2 inch or 12 mm thickness.

Q: Can i use this underlayment under tile in a bathroom? Can I use this underlayment in the bathroom under tile if we are going to put in electric radiant floor heating?
A: The installation instruction state this about use under ceramic tile. Use an overlayment above RB Silent Tread made of gypsum board, gypsum concrete or two layers of 3/8 inch exterior grade plywood (staggered and glued and screwed together for stability). The electric heat is fine and should be between the gypsum board and ceramic tiles.
