We offer a variety of colors from 10 percent to 90 percent color content. Color flecks consist of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) virgin rubber. Some rolls are in stock and ready to ship in approximately one week or less. Other colors can take up to two weeks to prepare for shipping.
Rolled Rubber Options
Greatmats offers rolled rubber flooring at the most competitive pricing available in the USA. We represent all major rubber roll manufacturers, and provide nationwide shipping with optimum production lead times. There is no rolled rubber project or custom request too large for Greatmats.
Rubber Flooring Rolls
A rubber flooring roll is generally the most economical type of rubber flooring available. Prices usually start at less than $1 per square foot for rubber underlayment rolls and begin at just over $1 per square foot for finished rubber flooring surface rolls.
Rolls are 4 feet wide and cut to standard lengths of 25 and 50 feet. We also offer rolled rubber in custom cut lengths. Rubber mat rolls of more than 25 linear feet will ship via freight delivery. Greatmats stocks 4x10 foot rolls of 1/4 inch rolled rubber that can ship via ground delivery and are offered with free shipping to save you money.
You'll often find a direct correlation between the cost per square foot and the thickness of your rubber flooring rolls. Underlayment rolls are the thinnest and most economical form or rolled rubber flooring. They can be as thin as 2 mm and can cost under 50 cents per square foot.
If you're looking for a thicker rubber floor mat roll, you'll find a large selection of rubber flooring rolls that fall into the $2-$3 range. These rolls are often between 1/4 and 1/2 inch thick. Some have different densities or color options which can shift them up and down the price scale. Most of your 1/2-inch thick flooring in this price range has a lower density than the other varieties.
Most high density 1/2 inch rolled rubber or high color percentage rubber rolls fall in the $3-$5 range.
Regrind and Confetti Flooring
If the color of your rubber flooring isn't a concern, regrind or confetti flooring is a great way to purchase a thicker rubber floor without paying as much as you would for a standard black rubber roll. Regrind rubber material is made of rubber scraps, making it a more economical option.
The regrind rubber rolls are available in both ''Natural'' and ''Confetti'' color options. Natural color rubber rolls are made from recycled tire material that includes the whitewalls. As such, very small random white flecks can be found within the rolls. Confetti is made of recycled rubber with scraps of other rolls thrown into the mix at the manufacturing process. With confetti, the colors are widely variant and will also appear at random throughout the roll.
If you are concerned about a consistent color fleck percentage in your roll, we discourage you from either of these options. However, if appearance is secondary to cost, these two rolled rubber options are the least expensive that we offer, and they come with the same great 5-year warranty as some of the higher priced alternatives.
Because the regrind holds no color guarantee, it is offered at a greater discount than other types of rubber flooring. However, the regrind features the same quality construction as the other rolled rubber, ensuring that you're buying a quality, durable product.
Plyometric Rubber Rolls
Plyometric (or plyo-aerobic) rubber mat rolls are less dense versions of our standard all-purpose rolled rubber. Whereas most rolled rubber is a relatively hard surface that provides little cushion, these plyometric rubber mat rolls are designed to provide cushion and fatigue relief for aerobic and cardio activities. This special rubber surface helps to protect athletes from the impact of repeated jumping or running.
Standard lengths of 25 and 50 feet are available as well as custom cut lengths in thicknesses of 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch. These ship via freight delivery. Like our other rolled rubber products, we offer a 4x10 foot plyometric rubber roll, in 8 mm thickness, which ships free via ground delivery.
Specialty Rubber Rolls
Greatmats also stocks a number of specialty rubber rolls for particular purposes. We offer a few 12 to 14-foot-wide rubber mat rolls that fall in the specialty category, as well as rolls designed with special shock and sound absorbing features. Other specialty products include artificial turf topped rubber flooring and extra-long entrance mats. Many of these options fall between $5-$8 per square foot.
Equine enthusiasts should consider our One Piece TruStall Mats. These mats create a seamless rubber floor for horse stalls that is easy to clean and can help to cut down on your bedding and labor costs. TruStall Mats are available in 3 sizes - 12x12, 12x14 and 14x14 feet and are 17 mm thick (approximately 2/3 inch).
For a waterproof and environmentally friendly twist to rubber mat rolls, consider our Waterhog Eco Elite Mat. Made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) fabric from plastic bottles, this polyester carpet comes in 6x67 foot rolls with rubber backing.
Installing Rolled Rubber
Rolled rubber can be installed in three different ways. A rubber mat roll can be dry laid with no tape or glue, but this method is suitable for smaller installations only. Typically, we discourage this installation type because the rolls can expand and contract with fluctuations in heat and humidity. As the rolls expand and contract, they may overlap one another if there is nothing holding them to the floor. This can create uneven edges and tripping hazards.
If you would like to be able to attach your rubber mat roll to the floor but still be able to move it later, then a tape-down approach is best. Any double-sided carpet tape can keep your rubber flooring attached to the floor without damaging the rubber or the floor. We recommend that you apply the tape around the perimeter of the room, and along the mat seams.
For a more permanent installation, use adhesive to attach the rubber mat roll to the floor (or subfloor). We offer an adhesive product specifically made for this purpose. The commercial grade adhesive is extremely durable and will keep your rubber floor in place indefinitely. Because this adhesive is commercial grade, it should never be used by people who are not wearing gloves or by people who have no experience with these types of installations. Keep this adhesive away from children.
General rubber roll installation is fairly basic. Simply unroll your flooring and, using a straightedge and a sharp utility knife, cut the ends square to fit. You may need to score the rubber more than once to cut through the product. Understand that you are better off leaving the cut pieces too long rather than too short as you can always cut more off if necessary.
Once you've laid your first four-foot strip, simply repeat the process until you have filled the room. Depending on your room dimensions, you may need to cut the roll from end to end the long way in order to fit the last portion of your room. Simply measure the distance between the side of your last laid roll and the wall and cut your remaining roll vertically to that width.
Lead times for all of our rolled rubber products will vary depending on stock quantities and availability. We encourage you to call regarding production times if you are faced with a deadline. We will do everything in our power to get the product to you in a timely manner.
Rolls of rubber flooring are one of the most common forms of home and commercial gym flooring solutions and can be custom ordered with nearly any color percentage color mix. Each roll will lay flat when unrolled for installation.
Our rubber roll flooring is made from a very low odor rubber material. The material is made with recycled rubber content and is a green product by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. It also qualifies for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) points.
Caring for Rubber Flooring
Avoid soaking or high power washing rolled rubber flooring. Although non-porous, this non-vulcanized rubber material is only partially non-absorbent and water will infiltrate the material over time when submerged repeatedly or power washed on a regular basis. To dry this rubber material, it is best to elevate the material off the ground or hand dry.
