Size and Shape Options

Because this 18x18 slate tile uses a hidden dovetail interlocking system, the final layout will have clean, straight edges. Yet, the installation process is extremely easy to complete, because the hidden puzzle edges just pop together with very little effort required.

Each tile measures 18 by 18 inches. The hidden interlock edge does not affect the area of coverage available from a single tile, which will cover 2.25 square feet. This makes it easier to calculate how many tiles the installer needs to cover a certain space.

A single tile weighs 3.4 pounds, which also simplifies the installation process. Installers can carry a large stack of these tiles to the installation location, which makes the entire process go faster.

This 18x18 slate tile model has a 5.5 mm thickness measurement (or about 0.217 inches). At this thickness level, it can safely support people walking on it and passenger vehicles.

This 18x18 slate tile product is available in three different neutral color options black, light gray, and dark gray.

Neutral colors are desirable in these tiles, especially when used in commercial or industrial locations where soils may be frequent. The neutral colors can hide the soil, meaning customers need to perform fewer cleanings.

Installation Options

Our 18x18 slate tile is easy to install as a DIY project. Just line up the dovetail tabs extending from the edge of one tile with the hidden dovetail slots on the underside of the adjacent tile. Then press the edges together. They will remain tightly connected without the need to add glue.

By avoiding adding glue, the installer can disassemble the tiles at any time and return to the subfloor. (Installers can add glue for a permanent style of installation.)

To create a clean look in the final layout, we offer ramp edging that connects to the hidden interlocking edge for a simple finishing process.

Cleaning and Maintenance Requirements

Because PVC plastic does not soak up water, customers can clean the tiles in a variety of ways. Start by removing dry debris with a broom, leaf blower, or vacuum cleaner.

For a more thorough cleaning, customers can damp mop the flooring, making use of warm water and common household cleaning products. In a warehouse, customers should be able to run a lightweight floor-cleaning machine over the top. Allow the tiles to air dry over a few hours.
