Our Interlocking Rubber Tile, 2x2 Ft x 8 mm Black, is one of the most popular designs of interlocking rubber floor tiles that we offer. This black interlocking rubber tile works well for a variety of installations around the home, including for exercise rooms and basements.
Our interlocking 2x2 rubber tiles require no adhesive and are easy to handle and carry. The puzzle edge tiles work well for either a wall-to-wall installation in a room or for an island installation.
For personal workouts, it is essential that the black rubber tile can withstand the rigors of machines and weights. Our black rubber tiles are an extremely popular flooring option for home gyms and residential weight rooms. Because of the durable, resilient surface and easy installation, this interlocking black rubber flooring is one of the best-selling rubber products.
Customers really love this type of black rubber flooring for a home weight room, especially when using free weights. If you drop a free weight on a wood floor, you could damage the floor. Or if you have a heavy weight machine on top of a carpeted floor, you could create indentations that will never go away. By placing this black rubber tile product in the area where you'll be storing and using the free weights or weight machine, you'll protect the flooring underneath.
Another benefit to using our tough rubber tiles in a home weight room or gym is that it absorbs noise. If you drop free weights on the flooring, you won't hear the loud noises such workouts can cause. This can be an especially nice feature if your home gym is on an upper floor of the home, so people underneath it don't have to hear the clanging of weights.
It's also a Made-in-the-USA product, which ensures its durability. It carries a 5-year manufacturer's warranty, so you can trust this product to last a long time.
High Quality Tiles
This durable, thick, and portable black rubber tile works great for areas where it will be subjected to rough conditions. This makes it perfect for home gyms, basement floors, and garages. The 8 mm thickness of these tiles will stand up to all kinds of machines and heavy items. However, if you would like a different thickness in your rubber flooring product, just contact our customer service team to learn about our other options.
These rubber tiles feature a beautiful, smooth surface. They're water-jet cut from a 4-foot wide rolled rubber material that is skived from a cylinder core to ensure tight specifications in terms of the tile size from piece to piece and from batch to batch.
This cutting method means that some tiles may have a slight curve to them. So during installation, all of the rubber tiles in the job should be installed with the same side down.
If the tiles do not want to lay perfectly flat during initial installation, one option is to use an Indoor Doubled Sided Carpet Tape in order to hold the tiles flat. You also can wait for several days to allow the tiles to relax to a flat shape.
Good Fit and Odor
The interlocking black rubber tiles design makes it easier to install than other rubber flooring options, including rolled rubber flooring. Unlike those other styles, interlocking rubber flooring tiles are made with a urethane binding agent, which almost completely eliminates the rubber odor that's common with most rubber flooring options. This displeasing odor is one reason why some people will avoid rubber flooring, so having the ability to avoid the odor makes our Interlocking Rubber Tile 2x2 Ft x 8 mm Black tiles very popular.
Additionally, the black rubber flooring tiles feature tight fitting seams. The tight fit ensures that you won't have to worry about the seams popping loose whenever you drop free weights on them or when using heavy exercise equipment.
The interlocking black rubber tile pieces each measure roughly 2 by 2 feet in size and 8 mm thick. Because of the way the puzzle style edges of each piece interlock together, you will lose a bit of coverage area during the installation process. When calculating how many black rubber flooring tiles you need for your installation, use 3.67 square feet of coverage per tile to compensate for the puzzle style edge.
Should you need to cut an individual black rubber tile to make it fit in a tight spot in a wall-to-wall installation, you can easily do this. Just measure the space in which you need to place a partial tile. Then cut the tile with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge, using a series of shallow scores until you make it all of the way through the tile.
We do not have any border pieces or corner pieces for this particular type of tile, so you'll have to cut the tiles to remove the puzzle edges if you want to create a flat edge for either a wall-to-wall or island installation. If you would prefer a border type of tile, just contact our customer service team for some help in selecting a different type of tile.
The 8 mm thickness (or 0.31 inches) provides a strong durability to our Interlocking Rubber Tile 2x2 Ft x 8 mm Black tiles, while allowing the product to continue to be easy to install. At this thickness, each tile will have a some give to it, which allows you to manipulate it easily.
To lay out the tiles, just line up the edges as you would any adjacent puzzle pieces. You can press the edges together with your hands or you can step on them to pop them into place.
Each piece of these black rubber tiles weighs 7.4 pounds, so one person can carry a tile. However, some people may find installing and moving these tiles is easier with two people because of their size.
The ability to move these individual pieces of black rubber tiles is one reason why some people choose this style of rubber flooring over rolls of rubber flooring. The rolls are more economical than individual tiles, but the rolls carry a lot of weight, making it difficult to move the rolls without several people or equipment. The ease of carrying, moving, and installing these tiles makes them a popular choice for the homeowner looking for a type of rubber flooring.
Another great reason for using our interlocking black rubber flooring is because you don't need any adhesive to install the tile. The pieces fit together tightly enough and they have enough weight to them that they will not slide around on the floor, even when used under heavy traffic. This means you can avoid the mess of glue and the smell of adhesives when installing our black rubber tile.
Disassemble and Store
Additionally, the interlocking black rubber tiles are easy to disassemble and move should you need to relocate them and return to the original sub-floor. A lot of our customers like to have this product on hand to create temporary flooring for special needs or events.
Once the event is completed, you can disassemble our tiles and store them until the next time they're needed. Disassembling the tiles is an easy process, but the best method for most people is to step on one tile and pull up on the adjacent tile to pop them apart.
The material works well in a home gym because it will not absorb odors from sweat as long as you keep it clean. It also will not absorb moisture under normal use, but may allow for some permeation if soaked or pressure washed. For this reason we recommend damp mopping when cleaning.
Cleaning our black rubber flooring is a simple process. You can sweep the floor as needed to remove loose debris and dust, thanks to the smooth surface on the top of the tiles.
Should you choose to use a mop on the black rubber tiles to perform a more thorough cleaning, use a neutral pH cleaner, diluted with hot water as instructed by the cleaner's manufacturer. We suggest using two buckets, one with rinse water and one with the cleaning solution, just to make sure the mop remains as clean as possible.
Our Interlocking Rubber Tile 2x2 Ft x 8 mm Black tile is in stock and ready to ship the next day. We also occasionally have various color options and color mixes beyond the standard black rubber tiles.
We offer these interlocking black rubber flooring tiles at the most competitive prices available. If you would like to know about any color options we may have available or if you'd like to see a sample of the rubber flooring, please contact our customer service team.
Always use Neutral Ph cleaner on rubber flooring. Damp mop with hot water, use two buckets to keep mop clean.Shipping
