Use our 2-inch thick Swing Set Rubber Mats under slides and playground swings. These are both areas of the playground where loose-fill rubber mulch for swing sets can easily be kicked out by playing children. When used with playground mulch, install the mat so the top is level with the mulch. When installing over grass, it’s recommended to dig a one-inch-deep trench to fit the mat.

Disclaimer
These rubber tiles are manufactured using recycled rubber buffings or crumb rubber from reground automotive tires. Black or color from the rubber material will rub off to some extent under normal use. This is common contact wear with this type of rubber tile in this product family type. All pigmented colored rubber tiles for outdoor and indoor use will experience some color ambering under UV exposure and some circumstances of color coming off.

We place these mats at the base of the slides on our play structures to help cushion a child's landing at
the end of the slide. We also use similar mats under our swings. They are heavy duty and hold up well.

I found the sales staff (Ryan) to be very good. The product and price was also satisfactory, but the delivery of the product was very poor. It started with some misunderstanding on the delivery, followed by a 20 minute phone call that yielded the result of our product being thrown off the back of a semi and into a pile at one of our grade schools yards.

The mats are great, thick enough to hold up to lots of children. and heavy enough that the ones placed at the end of the slide do not move. They are a little pricey, but I think they will last forever.
