This GrassTex playground grass turf padding product works great in any area where children will be playing, running ... and probably falling at some point. The artificial grass for playgrounds consists of a backing with a dual-layered woven polypropylene with a SilverBack Polyurethane coating. The 2.25-inch foam playground turf padding is installed underneath the artificial grass turf as a base to create a padded playground surface.
This thick playground turf padding foam underlayment is the key component that gives our artificial grass for playgrounds its high level of softness. As a fall protection soft turf, it's certified to a 9-foot fall height rating, which makes it an ideal option for use around playground equipment. In fact, this artificial grass for playgrounds was designed as the next generation of padded playground surfaces.
Atop the backing is a playground artificial grass that consists of a polyethylene yarn polymer that measures 1.25 inches in thickness. With such a long yarn in this fall protection soft grass turf, you'll receive a realistic look. The combination of the long yarn in the top layer and the thick foam pad base layer creates a safe and resilient padded playground turf material. The fiber top layer acts as a weed barrier.
The rolls of turf are available in 15 foot wide sections that are custom cut to the length you need. The 2.25-inch foam padding comes in rectangle-shaped mat pieces which measure 4x5 feet.
ChargeGuard Feature
Play Time Turf features ChargeGuard which reduces static discharge. ChargeGuard is built into the blades of synthetic grass, giving them resistance to static electricity buildup, which is important in playgrounds where equipment could have a buildup of static.

A: No, this system needs 3-4 inches of crushed stone compacted base for proper drainage.

A: The artificial grass turf is a designed for long term outdoor use in all climates and is not affected by the heat of the sun.
Q: How does it hold up to dog urine?

A: This playground turf meets a nine foot fall height requirement. It would be a very safe choice for a playground.

Q: Hello, I am running an outdoor circus school from May to October in Ottawa, Ontario. Interested in Playground Turf Play Time with 2 Inch Pad. I would be putting this down over the natural grass and taking it back off at the end of the season and replanting natural grass after we are gone. I understand that usually, this is not the best way to install it but is it still doable or do you have a different product that can beind as short term option. Though the ground is mainly flat, the ground will not be leveled off perfectly and we won't put in gravel under this. So is it possible to just roll this onto the slightly uneven grass/ground directly? How would be installed? Can you hose it down to clean it, we would do fitness-class type activities on it. Is it cushy enough to do somersaults and cartwheel on it? If we take it out at the end of the season can we store it after a good hose down? How long does it stay wet after it rain? Looking at 800 square feet. Also looking for a shipping quote to K1J 1C2. Thanks.
A: This playground turf needs to be installed permanent over a hard/flat base. Not grass/dirt. We do not currently offer a temporary playground turf. Cleaning and maintenance and install instructions can be located on this product page toward the bottom.
Q: Can this be installed onto pea gravel?
A: A compacted base of ¼-inch minus crushed stone/stone dust is recommended. Pea gravel may not compact well.
