Made of waterproof vinyl, this is garage floor covering that resists mold and mildew, two main reasons flooring deteriorates. Mold can sprout and spread on almost any surface when moisture is left between two layers. Remove the mat and allow the mat and floor to dry before putting it back in place. The mat itself will not promote mold growth. Before installing any floor covering, moisture coming from below or through the concrete subfloor should be addressed. It is recommended that the matting rolls be installed on a smooth, clean and dry substrate.

However, if moisture exists in the concrete subfloor or underneath installed flooring, it will not be able to evaporate when trapped under the flooring. Moisture can migrate under the flooring from around the edges when not fully glued down.
