By Brett Hart Created: August, 2017 - Modified: August, 2021

Have you ever been frustrated trying to transition your home or business flooring from hard or smooth to carpeting and wished there was an easier way to do it? Greatmats has a solution for you. It's simple, can be installed in virtually any indoor space - and it's portable!

We're talking about Greatmats own design of modular carpet, play and athletic court tiles.

Raised Modular Floor Tile Transitions

Greatmats Carpet Tile Home ClickBase and Court Floor Tile Flat Top feature the same interlocking base, which, when used together, allow you to connect both your carpeted and vinyl tile flooring together without a need for cumbersome transition strips.

No more nailing, gluing or swearing. No more stretching carpet or carrying heavy rolls. No need for knee pads, or back braces. This innovative flooring system can be installed by anyone for both permanent or temporary flooring solutions.

Versatility

It's great for kids playrooms, game rooms, daycares, preschools and even home gyms. You can easily transition from a court floor to a hallway or walkway, or a family rooms to a den. You can even create play area floors or trade show booth floors specific to your desired activity. Create race tracks or mazes, or game boards, built right into your floor, and it's never been simpler.

Easy Installation

Just lay down your tiles; snap them together with a tap of the foot; add a ramped border strip or cut to fit if you wish and your done. If you'd like to move your flooring to a new location or replace a damaged section, just pull up the tiles you wish to remove. Replace the damaged section with a new tile, or transport the entire floor in manageable sections. They're both designed for repeated installations, so you won't have to worry about damaging the tiles.

Both Court Floor Flat top Tiles and Carpet Tile Home ClickBase Tiles are 1x1 foot in size and feature a no-break polypropylene base with an identical tab and loop connector system.

Great for damp areas

The raised base allows for airflow beneath the tile, preventing moisture from coming in contact with your flat or carpeted surface and preventing it from becoming trapped beneath the floor. This reduces the risk for mold or mildew growth in damp environments such as basements or garages with condensation and allows a degree of flex to soften hard floors such as concrete.

Can be used virtually anywhere

Court Floor Flat Top Tiles are tight fitting athletic sports flooring tiles that are excellent for portable dance floors, basketball courts, aerobic or exercise flooring. Carpet Tile Home ClickBase tiles are excellent for basements, offices, entryways and even laundry rooms. The carpet top is made of non-absorbent recycled content.

With the modular design, you can create different patterns and color combinations in either section of flooring. The raised carpet tiles are offered in tan and gray while the court tiles are available in red, light gray, blue or black.

Both floors can handle high roll loads and are made in the USA!

Puzzle Tile Transitions

If you're looking for a softer, more cushioned option for anything from a kids play room to a home theatre, craft room or art studio, you may want to consider Greatmats line of EVA foam puzzle floor tiles. Available in numerous thickness and surface options, many of these tiles can interlock together. With that being said it is important to choose interlocking foam tiles of the same size and thickness.

Take, for instance, Greatmats Premium Foam Tiles and Royal Interlocking Carpet Tiles. Both tiles are 2x2 feet in size and are 5/8 in thick with a universal interlock. The feature the same size interlocks and you can therefore simply and easily transition from one to the other. Just be aware that while the tiles will interlock together, you may find a small gap at within the interlocks when connecting different models of puzzle mats. The mats will hold together, but they may allow some dirt or debris to fall into the seams.
