Size and Shape Options

With dimensions of 20x20 inches, our heavy-duty textured PVC floor tile has the perfect size to simplify handling during the installation process. Yet, it also has 2.75 square feet of coverage per tile, so installers can cover a large area faster than they can with a smaller-sized modular tile.

Customers will lose a little bit of the expected square footage per tile because of the T-shaped interlocking edge. The Greatmats customer service team is available to help you determine the proper number of tiles to order to fit a particular space.

At 6.5mm in thickness (or about 1/4 inches), each heavy-duty textured PVC floor tile only weighs 5 pounds. This greatly simplifies installation, as one person can move the tiles into place with minimal effort.

Additionally, should the installer need to cut a tile to fit tight against a wall, the thin design simplifies this process. Installers do not need specialized tools to cut them.

Material

PVC plastic is a popular selection for flooring in a manufacturing setting. It is extremely durable, carrying a 20-year manufacturer’s warranty.


PVC is waterproof, and it does not absorb other liquids, either, such as oils or chemicals. This gives the team the ability to clean up any spills before they could cause a slip hazard.

It also delivers resistance to impact and abrasion, making it ideal for locations where rough treatment is possible, such as industrial and commercial settings.

In a large building, like a warehouse, PVC will absorb sound when used as flooring. This helps to keep stray noise and unwanted echoes from distracting employees and making it hard to communicate.

Pattern and Texture Options

PVC offers a level of durability similar to rubber, but it weighs far less and is available with multiple textures and colors that allow installers to create sharp-looking designs on the floor.


The surface of this particular model of heavy-duty textured PVC floor tile has a textured pattern molded into the surface of the tile. This is a subtle texture that resembles the surface of an orange peel. It adds a little bit of traction to the surface to help prevent slips.

Customers can select among two colors – red or blue – in this style of tile. Customers can mix and match the red and blue tiles if desired, as both colors of our heavy-duty textured PVC floor tile use the same style of interlocking edge. We also offer this style of tile in black and gray.

For those who want to install straight edge pieces to create a clean look in the final install, we offer these finishing pieces in the same color as the tile. We also offer the ability to create custom logos on the tiles in a size equal to 4 by 4 tiles.

Common Use Options

Customers can feel comfortable installing these heavy-duty tiles in areas where they will receive exposure to tough conditions.


In a warehouse where forklifts may be in use, the tires on these vehicles will not slide across the top. Tires will not cause damage to these tiles, either, as they can stand up to significant amounts of weight. Some installations may require adding a protective coating.

At loading docks or other areas where large vehicles are in use, these tiles can stand up to challenging conditions. Some of our customers install these PVC tiles in airplane hangars and commercial garages as well.

In places where people may consider installing a solid epoxy floor, our heavy-duty textured PVC floor tile delivers almost 10 times more thickness than epoxy, creating a far more durable surface for industrial demands.

Installation Options

To install these interlocking tiles, just line up the T-shaped tabs on the edge of one tile with the T-shaped slots on the next tile and pop them together. With this type of shape in the edges, the tiles will remain connected without needing to use adhesive on the edges.


Because this is a flexible tile, it is easier to install than some rigid tiles. The flexible material simplifies the process of lining up and connecting the T-shaped tabs.

Cleaning and Maintenance Requirements

Customers should remove dry debris from the surface of the tiles on a regular basis. Without the removal of these items, they could grind into the tiles, resulting in staining and the accumulation of grime.


Use a commercial vacuum cleaner, a push broom, or a leaf blower to remove dry debris in a large layout.

Customers can mop these floors with a common household cleaner. Dilute the cleaning solution with warm water as directed on the bottle of cleaner. Allow it to air dry over a couple of hours.

Maintenance

Clean with damp mop, hot water and common household floor cleaner.
