Simple Installation

The peel and stick pressure-sensitive adhesive makes the installation process easy for anyone. You will not need professional help to install these office carpet tiles, as you might need if you're trying to install a full roll of carpet.

Crochet carpet tiles can be installed over any clean and dry floor. As long as the sub-floor has been cleaned and is free of particles, the adhesive will stick tightly to the sub-floor, giving you a solid installation.

You even can lay out these tiles over the top of another type of carpet. We do recommend that you steam clean any heavily soiled carpet before laying these tiles over the top of the old carpet. Additionally, the pile height of the old carpet should be no more than 3 mm in thickness (about 1/8 of an inch).

When you're ready to lay down the tiles, flip the tile so the carpet side is down and pull the protective film off the back of the tile. Do not remove the film until you're ready to lay down the tile, or you risk having particles in the air collect on the adhesive before you can install the tile, which could cause the tile to not stick properly.

Once the film is peeled, flip the tile and hold it over the area where you want to install it, lining it up properly before you adhere it to the sub-floor. Then lay the tile down. Double-check that it's properly aligned. If so, press it firmly in place with your hands around the edges and corners of the tile.

You certainly can slightly adjust the positioning of the individual outdoor carpet squares after you lay them down and before pressing them down, but trying to significantly reposition the tiles after they've been stuck to the floor can be difficult, so carefully plan your layout before beginning the process.

We recommend only installing these recycled material carpet pieces in temperatures of at least 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Easy to Handle

Each of these outdoor carpet squares has a measurement of 24 by 24 inches, which gives them a coverage area of 4 square feet each. This is a great size, as you can complete a large installation in a short amount of time versus using tiles that measure 12 by 12 inches.

Should you need to install these outdoor carpet squares on your own, it's a relatively easy process. Although each recycled material carpet piece is large at 24 by 24 inches, the individual tiles only weigh a little more than 1 pound each, so they're pretty easy for one person to handle. However, installation tends to go faster with multiple people involved.

Should you need to cut any of the recycled material carpet tiles to fit into a smaller than 24-by-24-inch space, you can cut these pieces with any sharp carpet or utility knife. Do not peel the protective film on the back of the piece before trying to cut it, or you'll complicate the process.

Carefully measure the area you need to cut the tile to fit. We recommend cutting the back part of the tile, rather than trying to cut the carpet side, as it's easier to mark and cut the back side straighter. Use a straight edge to ensure a precise cut. As long as you use a sharp knife, you should be able to cut the piece without causing fraying or a jagged edge.

Standard Maintenance

Our Smart Transformations Crochet 24x24 In Carpet Tile 15 Per Case product offers an easy maintenance process, which our customers love. You can take care of these tiles just as you would any type of carpeting.

You'll want to vacuum the carpet at least once per week, although we recommend vacuuming more often if you have installed the tiles in an area of high foot traffic. Regularly vacuuming the tiles gives them a much longer lifespan, as you'll remove dirt and soils before they become embedded in the fibers, causing unwanted matting.

As part of your regular cleaning process, we recommend having the carpet steam cleaned annually, although you can do this a little less frequently (maybe every other year) if the area with the carpet doesn't see much foot traffic or soils.

When it comes to cleaning spills or spots from these squares, you again can treat them like you would any other type of carpeting. Use a paper towel or cloth to remove any solids or liquids spilled on the surface of the carpet. Don't use a rubbing motion to try to clean these soils. Instead, use a blotting motion that will prevent the soil from being smeared around.

You also can use a gentle stain cleaner on this carpet top. We recommend placing the cleaning solution onto a cloth or paper towel, rather than placing it directly onto the carpet surface to avoid saturating the carpet.
