The Wall Pad Impact Fire Rated 2 Inch x 2x6 Ft. WB Z-Clip product is engineered to provide both impact protection and Class A fire safety standards for facilities where safety is a priority and fire rated pads are required or wanted. This wall padding system meets the requirements of ASTM E-84 Class 'A' Fire Rating and ASTM F2440-18 Impact Attenuation Standards.
Using an extra-firm polychloroprene latex compound foam core, the wall panel achieves impact attenuation ratings of less than 1000 HIC and less than 200 G-max, providing effective protection against impact-related injuries.
The panel consists of a foam filler laminated to a recycled composite wood backing and fully enclosed in a Class A flame-retardant vinyl laminated polyester covering. The covering wraps the face, sides, ends, and all wood edges, and is securely stapled to the rear of the backer board.
The Z-clip installation type of this wall pad features a channel type connection method where one channel is connected to the pad and a receiving channel is connected to the wall. Z-Clip installation note: Z-Clips are to be attached to the back of the wall pad panels during installation. The wall pads are not shipped with the Z-Clips attached. Z-Clips are provided with screws for attachment. Z-Clips are pre-cut to length and the panels are pre-drilled to receive the screws.
Features of Wall Pad Impact Fired Rated
- Backer Board: 7/16-inch (11 mm) SFI® Certified Responsible Forestry recycled composite wood backer board that is urea formaldehyde-free. Contributes toward satisfying LEED® Credit IEQ 4.4 requirements
- Foam Core: 2-inch thick low-smoke polychloroprene compound foam with a density of 9 lb/ft³. Achieves ASTM E-84 Class A fire rating with a Flame Spread Index of 25 or less and a Smoke Developed Index of 450 or less. Meets ASTM F2440-18 impact attenuation requirements.
- Vinyl Covering: 14 oz. vinyl laminated polyester that is puncture-resistant and tear-resistant. Features a leather texture. CPSC CPSIA 6P compliant with phthalates less than 0.1% and lead less than 100 ppm. Meets NFPA 701, CSFM, and ASTM E84 Class A fire requirements with Flame Spread Index of 25 or less and Smoke Developed Index of 450 or less. UV treated for long-term appearance retention. BAC Shield treated to provide: Antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-mildew protection
