Do I need a concrete base for my pickleball court?
For maximum ball bounce, it's recommended to use a 4-inch thick concrete base with #5 rebar reinforcement, as this provides the most permanent solution with the best playability.

Q: If you purchase the tiles for a pickleball court, do they have the lines already on the tiles? If not, is it compatible with pickleball court tape?
A: These pickleball court tiles do not have the lines on the tiles when ordered online. Please contact customer service to order court tiles with lines. The lines are an additional fee.
With the perforated design, using tape as lines may not work as well since the tape will not have enough surface area to stick to the tiles.
Q: Is this product slick when wet?
A: These pickleball court tiles offer fast drainage and do feature a texture on the surface of the tiles to provide traction. It will also depend on what kind of shoes.
Q: Can these tiles be placed on hard dirt ground if the ground is level?
A: For the proper ball bounce and performance, it is recommended that a concrete or asphalt base be used, especially for pickleball and tennis. The Outdoor Court Foundation Panel is also a suitable choice for a base when installed properly.
Q: What is the level of mold resistance, and how does it work?
A: There isn't a test for mold resistance. When installed properly, these court tiles allow water to drain away and provide airflow, allowing them to dry faster, which helps to prevent mold from growing on the tiles.
Q: How many tiles are needed for a standard-sized pickleball court?
A: A regulation pickleball court playing area is 20 by 44 feet. A popular size for home pickleball courts is approximately 28 feet by 52 feet, which would be approximately 2078 tiles.
