TechFloor 3x12 Inch Expansion Joints are made specifically for the TechFloor Garage Tiles. The expansion joints are engineered to help the TechFloor Tiles maintain structure in non-thermally stable environments such as areas that are exposed to direct sunlight.
The expansion joints will compress or expand to prevent the floor from buckling similar to how bridges and roads have joints for the same purpose. Each expansion joint is engineered to allow up to 3/8 inch of expansion or contraction.
The expansion joints are available in a variety of colors designed to match the TechFloor tiles.

Installation of the Expansion Joints
Expansion Joints should be placed every 5 to 7 feet depending on exposure to direct sunlight. The length of the strip is dependent on the sunlight exposure to that section. A minimum of 3 to 4 feet deep is recommended.
If the TechFloor will be installed in an area where it will not be exposed to direct sunlight, expansion joints are not required.
Each expansion joint replaces a 3x12 inch section of the floor (4 Expansion Joint tiles equal same footprint as an individual 12' x 12' tile).
Warranty
TechFloor Tiles and Accessories have a Limited Lifetime guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship.
Exclusions to this warranty are normal wear and tear, damage due to abuse, abrasive conditions, UV exposure, excessive manipulation/repeated installations and exposure to chemical contamination, such as spilled gasoline, oil, etc. This warranty is extended to the original purchaser of this product, and is non-transferable.
