Let's go over the first of 10 basic breakaways taught at white belt in tactical hapkido - down strike. If you opponent grabs your wrist, make a live hand. As you enter the center line with the side that's being grabbed, shoot the live hand down using a circular motion and put your opposite hand up for protection. Then use a circular motion with the arm that was grabbed to bring your elbow back to you opponent's groin area.
