Florence Green Engineered Hardwood Flooring 41.5 Sq Ft per Carton has a vintage hardwood look in multiple width planks. Great for that rustic style flooring look in a family room or any room. Random length planks are 4-1/2, 6 and 7-1/2 inch wide and 1/2 inch thick.

Delivering the Warmth of a Hardwood Floor

Versus laminate floors that use a printed top layer to simulate the wood grain, knots, mineral streaks, and colors of an actual maple wood floor, this engineered flooring product makes use of real maple. It even has a hand scraped texture in the veneer layer, which enhances the vintage look and feeling of realism.

Upon finishing the layout, the maple veneer in our manufactured wood flooring completely hides the plywood base layer, meaning visitors will see nothing but the rich, textured hardwood layer.

This design features beveled edges on the planks, filled checks, and the random wood grain patterns that do an impressive job of duplicating the nostalgic look of handcrafted tongue and groove hardwood floors from Northern Italy from decades ago.

This flooring features a semi-gloss finish and rich brown stain that enhances the beautiful wood grain patterns of the maple.

Random Manufactured Wood Flooring Layout

By offering widths between 4-1/2 and 7-1/2 inches and lengths between 11 and 72 inches, these engineered hardwood planks will generate a look of randomness in the floor that enhances its vintage style. The use of varying widths is especially difficult to duplicate in any kind of flooring other than actual hardwood, which makes this flooring an unusual option for customers.

The use of random lengths and widths of planks brings a bit of a challenge to the install process. However, the majority of homeowners should be able to do the work themselves without the need to hire professionals.

When laying out the floor, use planks of the same width in one row of the flooring. Then switch to planks with a different width in the adjacent row.

If needed, the installer may need to saw the planks to the correct length to fit against fixed objects and walls.

The planks use tongue and groove edges that allow them to slide together easily. Installers may need to add glue to the edges to secure the fit, depending on the plans for the installation.

Floating Floor

In a floating floor design, the installer will not adhere the planks to the subfloor. Instead, the tight fit of the wall-to-wall layout will keep the planks in place without the need to nail or glue them down.

For a floating floor layout, the manufacturer recommends adding specific tongue and groove glue to the edges. This secures the seams of the flooring, which creates the necessary stability in the floating floor.

Nail

Installers can choose to nail the engineered planks to the subfloor with brad nails or staples for a secure layout.

These brad nails should be 18-gauge nails that measure between 1-1/2 inches and 1-3/4 inches. Place the nails a couple of inches from either of the short ends of the plank. Then add nails every four to five inches along the length of the plank to complete the process.

Glue

A glue-down installation is possible too. Be sure to use a urethane-based glue, which will provide the most secure adhesion to the subfloor without pulling loose in the future.

Maintenance and Care

To perform general maintenance on the floor and to clean it, start with sweeping or dust mopping the floor on an as-needed basis.

Customers can use a vacuum on the floor too, as long as it has a felt or soft brush head. Do not use a vacuum with a beater bar head, as this could cause damage to the veneer layer of the manufactured wood flooring.

Clean any spills or pet accidents as quickly as possible to reduce the chance of damage. Only mop the floor as needed. Avoid using water or abrasive cleaners. Instead, use wood floor cleaner only.

Maintenance

Sweep or dust mop your floor once a week or more with an approved floor cleaner. Spills, pet accidents, or tracked in dirt should be cleaned immediately. Never clean or wet mop with water, water may damage floor. Use a wood floor cleaner, do not use harsh abrasive cleaners.
