English Country Engineered Hardwood Flooring 36 Sq Ft per carton - Europen oak design

are available in shades of European oak in tones of light, medium and dark greys. Random length planks are in 7-1/2 inch wide and 9/16 inch thick.

English Country Engineered Hardwood Flooring With European Oak Design

Our European Oak English Country Engineered Hardwood Flooring product yields a timeworn appearance in its design. This gives homes and commercial buildings a natural wood floor look without the expense and time involved in installing actual hardwood floors.

This collection of engineered hardwood flooring planks has multiple tones of browns and grays, giving them a design that resembles actual hardwood oak.

The veneer layer of European oak on the top of each plank delivers an appearance of an oil-finished floor in the home. This floor doesn’t have the difficult maintenance issues traditionally found with an oil-finished floor, however.

English Country Flooring Design Choices

With a width of 7-1/2 inches per plank, designers receive a high-end look in this floor versus narrow-width hardwoods. Each plank includes filled knots and a wire-brushed texture that contributes to the realistic look and feel of the installed floor.

This product ships in planks of varying lengths, ranging between 11 and 71 inches. This helps with the vintage appearance of this floor, as it encourages a random layout of the planks. This randomness is part of the charm of an actual hardwood floor.

Several different base colors are available in these models of planks. Some of these options create a light-colored floor, while others are darker. There’s a mix of classic colors and trendy colors.

Within an individual plank, slight tone variations will appear. They further contribute to the look of an actual hardwood oak floor. Each plank has beveled edges, which finishes off the design perfectly.

Please note that the product photographs displayed on this page should not be the only criteria used to make a product selection.

Each plank may have a slight difference in color and texture that do not fully show up in these images. The wood veneer layer across the top is a natural oak material, providing unique wood grain patterns, as well as texture and color variations.

English Country Plank Installation Tips

Each plank has a tongue and groove edge, allowing the pieces to slide together for a secure fit. This greatly simplifies the installation process, creating planks that hold together and that can stand up to heavy foot traffic.

As manufactured, we would recommend using a specific type of tongue and groove glue on the edges if the installer plans to create a floating floor design.

Using the proper type of glue ensures a secure fit between pieces. It also reduces the chance of generating cracking noises from the dried glue as people walk across the floor, which can happen with basic wood glue.

Another option for installers is to adhere the engineered hardwood flooring planks to the subfloor with staples or brad nails. As constructed, the manufacturer recommends using 18-gauge cleats that measure between 1-1/2 and 1-3/4 inches long for the most secure fit.

For the placement of the nails into the planks, place a nail an inch or two from the short edge of each plank. Depending on the length of each plank, place additional nails every three to four inches along the length of the plank for the most secure adhesion to the subfloor.

What Are Engineered Hardwood Flooring’s Benefits?

This style of flooring saves on price versus actual hardwood planks by using a mix of hardwood and plywood. Using less hardwood in this product helps to conserve natural resources versus installing hardwood planks that contain hardwood through the entire thickness.

It uses a veneer layer consisting of actual hardwood -- in this case, oak -- over the top of a plywood layer. The plywood base makes the connection. The veneer layer provides a natural looking wire brushed scratch texture across the top, along with wood grains, mineral streaks, and knots.

It’s an extremely durable type of flooring, as the English Country planks ship with a limited lifetime manufacturer’s structural warranty and a 35-year limited manufacturer’s residential finish warranty.

Maintenance and Care

Those caring for and cleaning this floor should clean it at least once a week or more often, if needed. Owners can use a vacuum, dust mop, or broom on this floor.

If using a vacuum, only use a brush or felt attachment. Avoid using a vacuum with a beater bar head.

Remove any spills, pet accidents, or tracked-in soils as quickly as possible.

When mopping the floor to remove stubborn stains, do not apply water alone on the engineered hardwood flooring. Instead, use a wood floor cleaner product that does not contain harsh abrasives for the best level of success.

This type of flooring has a maintenance level similar to that of a traditional urethane finished floor, rather than the more stringent maintenance required with an actual hardwood floor.

* Product images are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular style of flooring. They may not be representative of the full range of color, texture and grain variations which can occur in the product itself. Wood is a natural material, every piece of plank will have a unique appearance, often with naturally-occurring variations in color, texture and grain pattern.

Maintenance

Sweep or dust mop your floor once a week or more with an approved floor cleaner. Spills, pet accidents, or tracked in dirt should be cleaned immediately. Never clean or wet mop with water, water may damage floor. Use a wood floor cleaner, do not use harsh abrasive cleaners.
