Home rubber gym floor tile, Rubber 1/4 inch tile, Home rubber floor
If you're looking for durable rubber flooring that's also relatively easy to handle, the Geneva Rubber Tile Black - 8 Pack 1/4 Inch x 1.5x1.5 Ft. product works well. Because these rubber tile pieces are a little smaller than average and weigh a little less than average, they're a smart option to use in a home, where easy installation is a must. This tile is available in packs of 8 tiles per pack.
Our home rubber gym floor tile measures 18 by 18 inches with border edges come in a pack of 8 tiles, which means one person can handle and maneuver the tiles easily. Each tile only weighs 2.85 pounds as well, so you can install this tile alone if needed. Rubber tile naturally is heavy, so some home rubber flooring can be tough to install for one person. But our interlocking 1/4 inch rubber floor tile will be a simple installation process.
Each rubber 1/4 inch tile covers 1.86 square feet when the loss to the interlocking edge is taken into account. If you need some help calculating how many home gym flooring with borders included tiles you'll need to cover the workout area in your house, just contact our customer service team.
Tiles measure 18 x 18 inches with borders and 16.3 x 16.3 inches without borders.
Creating a Finished Look
One reason why customers love our home gym flooring with borders included product is because of the ease with which they can create a finished edge on the installation. You'll be able to create a nice, smooth edge on the flooring, no matter whether you're creating an island installation or a wall-to-wall installation.
Island: An island installation means you'll be assembling the tiles in the middle of the room. This is the easiest type of installation, as it requires no cutting. Each of the interlocking 1/4 inch rubber floor tile pieces ships with border strips, which snap into place using the same puzzle edge that the tiles themselves use, creating a finished look on the edge of the island installation.
Wall-to-Wall: With a wall-to-wall installation, the Geneva Rubber Tile 1/4 Inch Black tiles will fit tightly against the walls in the room. You almost certainly will have to cut the tiles to create this type of fit because it's unlikely the size of the connected tiles will exactly match the size of the room. After you measure the sizes you need, use a straight edge and a sharp utility knife to cut the tiles. When you don't need to cut the piece while butting it up against a wall, you can use the included borders to create the flat edge.
Tough Materials
Customers appreciate the toughness of our interlocking 1/4 inch rubber floor tile. It has a Shore A 60 material density rating, which means it will stand up to tough conditions well, such as using the tiles in a home workout room.
At 0.25 inches in thickness, our interlocking 1/4 inch rubber floor tile will stand up to weight work in your home gym. You can use these rubber mats to perform the workout, protecting the sub-floor from dropped weights. Or you can store your weight rack on the rubber tiles, ensuring that you won't indent the sub-floor with the constant heavy weight on top of it.
You can count on these tough tiles lasting a long time, as each piece ships with a 5-year limited manufacturer's warranty. This is a Made in the USA product, derived from the highest quality recycled rubber. These home gym flooring rubber pieces qualify for LEED points.
The Geneva line of interlocking 1/4 inch rubber flooring tile pieces represents a premium product. These tiles are manufactured from block rubber and will have fewer cutting or skiving markings than tiles cut from rolls. The tiles will lie flat and will not curl. These interlocking tiles are stamped or die cut.
If you plan to perform extreme powerlifting inside your home gym, we would recommend a thicker home gym flooring with borders included product. Dropping extremely heavy weights on our 0.25-inch thick rubber may not leave the sub-floor properly protected. If you're a powerlifter using large barbells and huge weight plates, you're probably going to want to consider a thickness level of at least 0.75 inches. Our knowledgeable customer service team can help you figure out exactly what types of mats will work well for your situation.
Easy Disassembly
If you are planning to install the interlocking 1/4 inch rubber floor tile in a multi-purpose room in your home, you're going to appreciate the way you can both install and disassemble these tiles easily. Our puzzle style edges on the tiles make them easy to assemble with no adhesives required.
When you need to remove the tiles from the room, just step on one of the tiles and pull up on the edge of the adjacent tile. This will pull the puzzle edges loose. Then just stack the home gym flooring with borders included tiles out of the way until you're ready to install them again.
Other Rubber Flooring Options
If you're not sure whether the interlocking 1/4 inch rubber floor tile is the best option for your home workout needs, Greatmats has many other rubber flooring options. You'll find puzzle-style tiles that are of different sizes or that offer different thickness levels. Thicker tiles will be able to give your sub-floor a greater level of protection and can support more weight than thinner tiles. However, thicker tiles will weigh quite a bit more than our 0.25-inch thick tiles, so they will be a little tougher to install.
No matter what type of rubber flooring you choose to use with your home gym, you'll receive the benefit of this type of floor's ability to dampen noise. People lifting weights will cause a lot of noise as the weights bang onto the floor. But the rubber softens this banging, which is especially nice in a home setting, where others in the house don't want to be bothered from the noise of your workouts.
Tile style rubber pieces tend to cost more than some other types of rubber flooring. The puzzle edges need to be precisely cut to ensure they all will fit together, no matter when they were manufactured, which leads to a higher cost for these tiles than other rubber flooring options, such as rubber mats or rolls of rubber flooring.
Tiles Vs. Mats
An individual rubber mat will cover a greater amount of floor space than a single tile. However, rubber mats do not feature an interlocking edge, so the mats may not stay in place as well as the interlocking 1/4 inch rubber floor tile pieces will.
Rubber mats have a flat edge to them, so you don't have to worry about losing coverage area to the puzzle edges, as you do with our home gym flooring with borders included. If you need to place two or more of these mats together to create a larger flooring option, you can just set them up side by side. The flat edges on each mat allow them to fit tightly together.
Rubber mats can be surprisingly heavy, so take that into consideration when trying to determine whether you want this type of rubber flooring product. Moving these mats can be tough, as they may weigh 50 pounds apiece or more. If moving and installing the rubber flooring is a concern for you, stick with the lighter weight and smaller tile pieces.
Tiles Vs. Rolls
Our home gym flooring with borders included tiles are a much easier option to move around and install than rolls of rubber flooring too. Although the rolls of rubber are convenient, as you can cover a lot of space at one time, these rolls are extremely heavy, often weighing a few hundred pounds.
It can be difficult to install rolls of rubber flooring at your home because of the weight, so many of our customers stick with the rubber tiles with puzzle edges to create a home gym type of flooring. Rolled rubber is a more economical option for a studio gym setting, where you need to cover a large amount of space to protect the sub-floor and where you may have equipment available that will make carrying and maneuvering the rolls of rubber easier.
Maintaining the Floor
You can clean these home gym flooring with borders included tiles by sweeping or vacuuming the surface to remove dry debris. When you need a stronger cleaning, you can mop the floor with a neutral Ph cleaner.
If you'd like some advice on ordering the Geneva Rubber Tile 1/4 Inch Black 18x18 Inch product from Greatmats, just contact the customer service team. These tiles will give your workout room a nice, finished look, while also protecting the sub-floor and lasting for several years of use, making them a good value.
Maintenance
Use a neutral Ph cleaner, such as Taski Profi.

It used to take one call to place a order, this last order took about 3 or 4 calls to complete a order. Seems I had to beg to get a order placed.

This product is a really good value. I put it in my home gym and it works great...very durable and looks great. It is pretty easy to install (I'm not very handy so others may find it very easy). I shopped around and priced/sampled many products both in stores and online and the EconoLock was by far the best value. I highly recommend it for home gym use.
