What happens when Royal Interlocking Carpet Tiles are exposed to sparks and flames

Watch as we test the eva foam backed Royal Interlocking Carpet Tiles against sparks from a bench grinder and open flames. You can see the carpet and foam both melt with direct contact from sparks originating just a few inches away. The carpet tile does also burn slowly when exposed to an open flame.
While these are some of the most versatile carpet tiles around, we do not recommend using them in metal workshops.
