How much does color influence temperature of Portable Outdoor Tiles

In this video, we take a look at Greatmats Portable Outdoor and Tent Tiles. Available in black and gray, we decided to test just how much the color affects the surface temperature of the tiles when exposed to direct sunlight on an 81 degree day in Milltown, Wisconsin.
After about 4 hours in the sun, the black tiles tested about 11 degrees hotter than the grey tiles as recorded by a infrared thermometer.
