His mother, Jamie, said, “Our family loves music and we would always dance together in the kitchen.”
By age 7, Jacob began training at Rage Box Contemporary Dance Center in Forest Hill, Maryland. And he has trained in everything from hip hop to break dancing, tap, latin, jazz, ballet and contemporary dance all over the country, including in Maryland, New York and California.
Active with Monsters of Hip Hop since age 8, Jacob has worked with Disney on multiple occasions, danced in four Kidz Bop music videos and two national commercials where he’s put his skills on display as an award winning performer.
The Need for Home Dance Marley
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit the United States, Jacob returned to dancing at home. Only this time he moved beyond just the kitchen to the living room and outside where he took classes via Zoom.“The surfaces were very rough on his legs and knees, so we decided to build him a home dance room,” Jamie said. “We decided to order Rosco Adagio Marley at the recommendation of our local dance studio. My husband (Rafael) watched several YouTube videos on how to build a sprung floor and cover with Marley.”
After speaking with Greatmats' customer service team and finding its online tutorials, the Rassis decided that would be the best place from which to order their flooring.
“The ladies on the phone walked us through the type of floor we needed, how to measure and how to install,” Jamie said. “The delivery was great as well!”
Jacob has danced on the floor every day since it was installed and plans to continue training on his new floor for his daily zoom classes from all over the U.S.
“Jacob loves the new marley because this is the type of floor he is used to dancing on at professional studios,” Jamie said. “It looks great and is easy to clean.”
