Midwest Starz Regional Dance Competition - Davenport, Iowa

March 28, 2017 -- The Midwest Starz Dance Competition returned to the Davenport, Iowa, area for the third time March 17-19 for a regional dance competition at Davenport's River Center. Nineteen regional dance studios competed in front of a approximately 500 spectators.

Ignite Dance Center of Burlington, Iowa, was the high point winner for its Open Solo routine ''Breathe and Receive'' received a score of 294.598 out of 300 points. Ignite Dance Center also had Jazz Solo routine called ''Lips'' which scored a 292.38.

Meanwhile, Studio E Dance Company of Edwardsville, Illinois, claimed the Starzmanship Award for its outstanding showing of sportsman-like conduct.

While this was the first a Midwest Starz Dance Competition, equipped with Greatmats Dance Flooring, that was held at the River Center, the Midwest Starz staff said, ''It was a great venue.''

The competition featured dancers, ages 5 and up, performing all kinds of dance including the following:

- Hip Hop

- Tap
- Lyrical
- Clogging
- Precision/Cheer
- Line
