Baseball Turf, Artificial Baseball Grass, Artificial Sports Turf
Our Grand Slam Artificial Grass Turf Roll 12 Ft Wide Per SF product allows you to participate in your favorite outdoor sports all year long, whether you're outdoors or indoors. The athletic field artificial grass turf provides a perfect surface to stand up to the wear and tear of practicing and playing games, while giving a look that's similar to grass.
Baseball and Softball Practice
One of the most common reasons to make use of our artificial sports grass is to use it as baseball turf. Here are some of the ways softball and baseball teams will make use of our turf.
Batting Cages: Because you have players using the same area of the batter's box in the batting cage constantly, this area can be quickly worn down. Our artificial baseball grass is the perfect solution for keeping this area looking fresh and for providing safe footing for players. If the artificial grass becomes worn, you can just replace it with another section of the baseball turf, meaning it's ready for another practice session almost immediately.
Batting Practice: When taking batting practice on the playing field, you can keep the area around home plate looking fresh with a good integrity of the dirt in this important area of the field. Just use the artificial baseball grass laid over the batter's boxes and in the area around home plate to ensure you don't have indentations or other significant damage to this area before the game starts.
Indoor Playing Surface: With an indoor baseball facility, finding a good looking surface that will also stand up to regular use is important. Our baseball turf works great for all kinds of practice, including taking ground balls. Because our artificial baseball grass rolls can cover so much surface area, you'll be able to lay out the entire facility at a good value.
Football and Soccer Practice
Our athletic field artificial grass turf field works extremely well for indoor facilities used for practicing sports like football and soccer too. The turf is tough, allowing it to stand up to repeated use for practice, giving athletes a sturdy surface that also provides a safe footing.
Even though the installation of the Grand Slam Artificial Grass Turf Roll 12 Ft Wide Per SF product is more common as baseball turf, you'll love how our athletic field artificial grass turf works for indoor soccer practice. The turf provides a consistent surface, which is perfect for practicing passes and shots.
And if you lay out the product in front of the goal, this area will remain in good shape, as the constant movement of the goal keeper will not quickly wear out the artificial grass. Should you notice some unwanted wear, just replace that section of the field, and you'll be ready for more workouts.
For football teams practicing 7-on-7 drills indoors, the ability to cut and make normal football moves on the athletic field artificial grass turf will be beneficial to your players' development.
The athletic field artificial grass turf works very well for place-kicking practice for football too. The sure footing and consistent surface will allow kickers to develop a repeatable motion that will help them improve their skills.
Some people chose to roll out artificial athletic grass for landscaping in an area of your property where you don't want to have to maintain actual grass. Or if you live in an area where lawn watering is greatly limited, having a green artificial surface will look great without the need to provide water to it. Areas where this turf can work in a landscaping type of installation include the following.
Indoor Sun Rooms
Walking Paths in a Garden
General Purpose Facilities
As you can see, our artificial baseball grass is a perfect option for installation at either a private indoor athletic facility or at a school with an indoor practice area. The Grand Slam Artificial Grass Turf Roll 12 Ft Wide Per SF baseball turf has a good price per square foot, meaning you can cover the entire indoor practice area economically.
This turf also looks great for a long period of time. The artificial baseball grass works for whatever kind of indoor sports practice you want to have, whether it's football, soccer, softball, or baseball. (If you want to practice putting in golf, contact our customer service, as we have an artificial grass with a smaller pile that's better for putting.)
It even can be used outdoors, preventing wear and tear on a grass playing field. In any place where players will repeatedly be working out in a small space on the grass during warm-ups or practice sessions, you can lay our baseball turf over the top of the area, protecting it from the constant wear. Once the warm-up session is over, just roll up the artificial baseball grass again, and you're ready for the game.
Our athletic field artificial grass turf product consists of a polyethylene plastic stalk on the top (or visible) side of the segments. The design of the stalk greatly resembles short grass. The pile height of the product measures 9/16th of an inch, which works extremely well for athletic practices, as it's not too tall to cause stumbles for the athletes, yet it's thick enough to ensure a good footing.
The back of the rolls of artificial baseball grass consist of a dual layered woven polypropylene with a polyurethane coating.
Each segment of this artificial grass carries a 5-year limited manufacturer's warranty, which means you can count on the longevity of this Made in the USA product.
The product consists of non-absorbent materials, so you don't have to worry about spills or other liquids causing problems with the product's integrity. However, we do recommend cleaning up any spills as quickly as possible, just to prevent any potential problems with the sub-surface. Additionally, the polyethylene plastic surface has been UV treated, meaning the artificial turf will stand up to sunlight.
We do have a few recommendations to keep the athletic field artificial grass turf looking as great as possible for as long as possible.
Flames: Keep any type of flame away from the turf, such as from grills, fireworks, or cigarettes. The turf will not burn openly when exposed to extremely hot materials, but the fibers could melt when exposed to direct heat, causing noticeable damage.
Furniture: If you're using this product in a patio area, do not place furniture that has sharp edges or narrow legs on top of the fibers. The legs of the furniture likely will penetrate the surface, tearing holes in it.
Vehicles: Do not drive heavy vehicles onto the turf. When exposed to the pressure of the weight of the vehicle, the turf fibers could become damaged. If you need to drive a vehicle on the turf, lay multiple sheets of plywood over the turf and drive on the plywood. Avoid leaving a vehicle parked on the plywood for any length of time.
Water: If you have a sprinkler system in use near the artificial surface, try to avoid having water constantly sprayed on the fibers. Over time, minerals in the water could cause a discoloration to the pine green color of the surface if it's exposed to frequent watering.
Should you have damage on the surface, you can replace that section of turf with another section.
Maintenance and Ordering
This baseball turf product requires basically no maintenance, which is another desirable feature. The product will continue to look great, even after constant use.
If the individual fibers become soiled with dirt over time, you may need to cross-brush the turf on occasion. To cross-brush, use a sweeping or brushing motion against the grain or nap of the polyethylene plastic stalk fibers. Use a brush or broom with synthetic bristles, rather than one with wire bristles, as the wire could damage the fibers.
Some people will choose to flush the artificial baseball grass with water from time to time, which rinses away dirt and airborne particulates. (Whether you can flush the area with water will depend in part on the sub-surface material.)
The pine green athletic field artificial grass turf is available as a freight delivery only. The customer must be able to unload the roll off of the truck with a forklift on site or at a loading dock. Hand unloading is not an option. The product weighs almost 5 pounds per linear foot (for the 12-foot wide product), so a typical 100-foot roll will weigh almost 500 pounds.
