Most Common Product Questions For cork laminate gym at Greatmats:
Is this a non vulcanized rubber
That is correct. This is not vulcanized.
Can I use this floor for ballet and jazz dance classes? My daughter does tap jazz and ballet and need to know if it works. I will put it on the second floor of the house which is wood. Thanks Maria
We would recommend a vinyl marley flooring material, such as the Adagio, especially for ballet where the dance would want a continuous surface with not seams. For ballet it would work well.
Would you recommend ''mounting'' this to some kind wood or mat? This would go in a carpeted room upstairs?
These tiles can be laid flat on any flat surface including carpeting and will work well.
IF I want to make a larger dance floor can I combine kits? Or lets say I want to do an 8ft by 8ft dance floor what would I need to buy?
You can purchase the tiles individually on our portable dance floor product page.
Im looking for a mobile dance floor for my son. We live in a decent size 1BR apt. I plan tonout this jn my LR, and I was wondering how many pieces is in one (1) pack? Thanks in advenced. Thomas
One tap kit consists of 9 tiles and enough borders for the perimeter to make a 3x3 ft area. Please contact customer service for any size custom kit.
Can the flooring be used outside over grass?
The tiles should be installed on a hard flat surface, so it depends on the grass, most likely not.
can be use for regular dancing? birthday party?
Yes these tiles can be used for heavy use on a regular basis. You can purchase the tiles in any quantity to make any size configuration. Please see this product page. http://www.greatmats.com/tiles/raised-floor-tiles-max.php
Can this product be used for irish dance, especially for hard shoes?
Yes this tile is durable for all type of shoes an clogs.
Can this floor be used for dance with bare feet? I am specifically talking about Indian classical dance which we perform without any footwear. Wondering if the surface will have enough grip or it will slip.
I dont think the barefeet will slip on these tiles. Please keep in mind that there is a seam every one foot on this surface.
Can a layer of Marley be put on top of the tap dance floor to make it suitable for ballet?
Yes this would work fine.
I would like a space to practice my clogging. If I lay the tap dance floor kit over bear concrete, should I use some sort of sub floor for cushioning? If yes, what do you recommend? Thank you for your consideration.
You can put an underlayment under these tiles, however its not required and its a good idea. A good option for the underlayment is the product called EZ Floor Underlayment 2 mm.
My daughter does Irish Dance, both hard shoe and soft shoe. Would this be a good in home practice floor for her?
Yes this floor works well for hard shoes.
Will these tiles work on top of concrete? Or would I need to purchase an underlayment with it?
Yes for home use, you can install these tiles over concrete. Underlayments are also good and can be added later.
Are these mats durable enough to use for indoor roller skating? Specifically, jam skating?
The tiles are a great multi-purpose floor. However, these may not hold up to roller skates over time.
I am trying to understand how to take the tiles apart and then reassemble. With time, some of the seams have gotten wider (
