Why is rubber flooring better than plastic under grills in outdoor kitchens

If you plan to do a lot of barbecue grilling on you deck or patio outdoor kitchen, keep in mind that not all outdoor flooring solutions offer the same resistance to intense heat. Take, for instance, rubber pavers and perforated plastic deck tiles. Both are excellent for providing a stylish look and increased comfort. However, the rubber pavers will handle much more abuse than the plastic varieties.

In this video we tested the fire resistance of both styles of deck and patio flooring tiles by placing hot bbq coals on top of the tiles and watching what effect they had on the flooring.
