Here we are practicing a basket toss. But new matts would make it so in the summer time when we have practice and there is tons of smoke we could practice inside. Our school doesn't help fund our cheer program! So we have one tiny mat for assemblys.

This photo was taken during a basketball game, where the cheer team performed their round three after competition season was done. The girls had just competed at districts, and had received 5th. So close to moving on to regionals. They decided to perform it at the school to redeem themselves. They sure did wow the crowd, whom they received a new sense of respect from. And they did this all on only 4 wrestling mats and one cheer mat that are all around 10 years old. It was their first year as a MHSAA recognized sport, and they amazed everyone by taking home a trophy at every invitational they went to. As a mom of a girl on this team, I personally know that this money would mean so much to these hardworking, extremely great full group of girls.

Bloomfield Varsity Cheerleaders perform at a home basketball game. This cheer team is in desperate need of new mats! The ones they currently have are only two panels wide and do not have a Velcro strip to attach them! The mats have multiple holes, gum, rips and tears. The cheerleaders are forced to share these mats with all other sports teams for their conditioning purposes so they aren't always treated well. These mats have also been around for over 20 years, and are in desperate need on an update that the team does not have the funding for.

Hello ! I am a sophomore, junior next cheer season, cheerleader at my high school. This is my high school cheer team. Our school system is so terrible that the cheer team gets no money for new equipment. we don't even have mats to stunt on. we have to practice in the grass which is extremely dangerous. with newbies on the team and stunts falling of course it just wasn't safe. All i want is to see my school cheer program be able to blossom. If i were to win this give away, i'm not sure what i would do. I know i would make my team proud. I think that my school really deserves this. Please and thank you ????

This was our very first playoff game in many many years. My team has grown so much in the past year that we are stronger than ever. The amazingly beautiful woman behind this photo is the hardest working, most kind hearted woman in the world. Tammy Askew, our cheer coach has given us the past 6 years of her life to teach us to be strong, young women who believe in ourselves. We have become such an amazing group, but we have one dilemma. We have zero school funding. We have had the same pompoms since 2001. 18 years of blood, sweat and tears. Our mats have been abused by other school teams such as wrestling, and also by the weightlifting team. They are torn, stained, ripped, and smell so terribly that its hard to breathe around them. This money would allow us to be the best team we could be. I am a Varsity Cheerleader on this team! Our address is : 150 Eagle Pride Drive East Flat Rock, NC 28726

Competing at our Cheer Ltd. competition!! We got 3rd place, and we also HIT 0!!! We could very much so use these mats because the only mats we have are about 4ft long & 2 ft wide. They have very little cushion in them. We also have another long black mat we use for comp, but it's extremely heavy and hard to carry when we roll it up. We have been talking about new mats for a while, but our school won't pay for new ones. This would be an amazing gift and would help our cheerleading program out a TON!!!

The reason why our school needs the new cheer mats is because currently we don't have enough for both our jv and varsity teams to practice. We are a competition team along with sideline, so when we practice our competition routines the teams have to take turns using the mats which divides up our practice time. We also don't have enough mats to make up the full 9 panels so our full outs aren't really full outs. Since we don't have the mats, we have to sometimes practice at an open gym just so we can do full outs which cost money. That is why Fremont High School needs the new cheer mats.

Our high school would use the mats so that our JV program has somewhere to practice. Right now, we only have one set of mats and it is very difficult for both our our teams to practice. Currently, we have to share the mat space with both levels, which makes it difficult for the teams to effectively practice and prepare routines Taylor Lehmann Head Cheer Coach Geneva High School 416 McKinley Ave. Geneva, IL 60134

This team has gone through so much over the past 4 years that I've been a part of it. We've gone through 2 coaches before our new coach this year, and Coach Liz has been such a blessing to us. She had brought the team so incredibly far and showed us that with 110% effort and focus, we could be an amazing team. Because of her and because of the team's talent, passion, and dedication, we took first place at WACPC State not only in our division, but overall as well (our day 2 score was 112.2/120). Even though we've done amazing things this year, we've had to do it on some not-so-great mats. We practice in our school's fieldhouse which has turf in it. The bottom part of the mats has a lot of spots where the foam is torn and ripped up which makes it difficult to pull them across the turf when moving them together to tape. On top of that, most of them are not even straight because of them being carelessly rolled up in past years. This causes cracks to constantly be between mats; even when we try our best to push them together and tape them, they separate. It seems like people are always worried about stepping in the cracks, as one girl had even tripped in it just running through our competition dance and even sprained her ankle from it. The layer of blue on top has also been getting extremely fuzzy on the edges where we usually put the velcro tape, so in addition to the cracks, we deal with the issue of the tape coming up because it won't stick well enough (yet another risk of injury). We would get new mats ourselves, but unfortunately, our school's athletic funding goes primarily to other sports, especially football. We fundraise most of the cheerleading funds ourselves, but it usually goes to paying for competitions so it lowers the individual cost for us. It was hard enough to get funding for our new uniforms this year (we needed an upgrade from the old, faded, and even pit-stained ones). If we had new mats, the team wouldn't need to constantly worry about the risk of injury and we wouldn't spend as much time at the beginning of practice trying to push the crooked mats together and taping them, only for them to immediately separate again. We would take care of them so that for future years, they wouldn't have to deal with the same struggles as we did. Finally, I know the coach has been discussing hosting a competition and having new mats would not only be visually better, but it would also lower the risk of injury for other teams!

Our small team of 14 cheered our football team through the season with a record of 10-1 and all the boys said our cheering was what pushed them through. Our program is small and overlooked by many school officials but is starting to grow in popularity within the student body. We are trying to improve our skill level in stunts and tumbling more and more each year. We would use this new matts to have a bigger practice area so we can start doing more elaborate routines or we would use the prize money to purchase new warm ups for our team. Our current warm ups are close to 10 years old.

This was our JV and varsity cheerleaders at our 2019 homecoming game. We would definitely use the mats to have extra space for our coed stunting, as we are a newly coed program!! We would also utilize the mats so we can hold JV and Varsity practice at the same time as we are a program where some coaches have to do double duty, and we just don't have enough mat space! This is our cheer team. We are from a small town called Kanab. This upcoming year we have a team of 15 girls! We love to stunt and try new things but there are so many laws in Utah about stunting, and one that always seems to get in the way is stunting without a mat. At our school, almost every other sport gets a fund at the beginning of the year, but cheer here is not looked at as a sport, so we don't get a fund, everything comes out of our own money. So winning these mats would be so amazing, and it would help us to get better at what we love to do.

Though our campus has no sports, we started a cheer squad;named Phoenix Cheerleading. Our goal is to compete against local highschools and simply enjoy everything cheerleading has to offer. We are trying our best to start from the ground up. Our Campus has a scarcity of money, therefore our administration can not pay for our equipment. The cheerleaders would have to pay out of pocket the full price of mats from another facility in order to practice safley. Mission Early College Highschool' Phoenix Cheerleading would truley appreciate an opportunity to win $1000 to buy mats and equipment from your facilty. If we win this opportunity, we would stick to your buissness for future purchases. Phoenix Cheer hopes you consider our squad. Thank you,

We started our cheer team two years ago. We had no budget and our cheer coach who donates her time payed for our uniform out of pocket. We went to our first cheer competition and being out in the floor was our first time on cheer mats. We own one panel mat. Enough for one stunt group. We don't have mats for tumbling or practically anything else and can't afford them. We do fundraiser but that only covered our comp music and I believe that if we won these mats it could make a huge difference with the success of our team, so please vote for us!

Chunks keep falling out everyday! We want to go back and win again next year but our mats inhabit how much we actually can do. If we were to win this contest we would use it to pay for new mats. Our mats are very old and they actually give many of the people on our team rashes and makes people's allergies flare up. We would also use some of the money to pay for new uniforms that we would need to purchase in the future since we don't have enough for everyone on our team.

We don't have access to our gym because other sports practice there and we don't have a football field. We practice in a space outside that is filled up with gopher holes and in the past girls have gotten injured from stepping on the gopher holes. Our school can't afford proper cheer equipment we don't even have cheer mats at all. We practice our stunts with tiny gym class mats or sometimes no mats at all. We risk a lot by doing so. It's hard to go from nothing to performance on huge mats during comp season since we are not used to actual mats. Despite our situation, this is us at CIF- LAC City Championships after winning 2nd Place in our division. All because of our hard work. Winning this contest would be a blessing it would really help us up our game and overall performance. As well as our safety. We'd finally be able to get mats. We'd really put the mats to good use.

Saint Joseph High School is a Catholic all girl high school in Lakewood, California. Our cheerleading program has had a very successful past season with our varsity team being the first ever CIF Champions of cheerleading while our jv won multiple regional competitions. Both teams advanced to day two of USA Spirit Nationals where we all placed in the top five. Not only do we cheer competitively but because we are an all girl school we cheer for our local all boys Catholic high school who were named the #1 high school football team in the nation. Because of this, we travel across the country to cheer in the sidelines and preform half time routines. Currently we practice in our auditorium, outside, and in a local all star gym named Rise Up Athletics. However, throughout the season we are mostly outside for practice. Since we dont have much of an off season, it is very hard to get out mats professionally cleaned. Because weve had the same mats since the cheerleading program started, its extremely hard to keep them clean especially when we practice outside. Through the many years theyve been in use, they curl at the ends & sometimes wont stay flat. With new mats wed be able to practice safer, cleaner, and more efficient. Wed love a chance to represent GREATMATS with our following seasons to come. Thanks for the consideration!

I soon will be a senior for the Tupelo High School varsity coed team in north Mississippi. The reason I am applying for this giveaway is that, our team has been through so much in the past couple of years. We have had 3 coaches quit, since I have been on the team. Our football team doesn't respect us or our mats, we have walked into the gym multiple times where they have rolled them our just to walk on them with their cleats so they don't walk on the gyms floor. A couple of the mats got water on them from a leak in the ceiling and have a touch of mold on the edges. and so much more. We are not in the booster club, so we have to raise our own money and pay out of pocket for anything that we want to do, and we just can't afford to do anything about the mats. We are not seen as a 'sport' in our school. Even though we just won the 6a Varsity game day championship in December. Even though I will be leaving in a short year, this group of girls and guys deserve so much, so I am doing my best to leave them with the best. Thank you!
