How Long Does It Take To Install Modular Flooring For A 10x10 Space With 1 foot tiles

Date Published: 10-12 - 2022

In this video, we timed how long it takes a novice to install three different types of modular floor tiles. All three are 1x1 foot in size with a raised plastic base that connects together using tab and loop connectors. Each install uses 100 tiles to cover a 10x10 foot space and each as optional border strips. The video shows how long it takes to install 100 sq feet with and without the ramped borders (on all four sides).

Note: This installs did not include custom cutting for wall-to-wall installations or to go around obstacles.

The products installed were:

Perforated Garage Tile: https://www.greatmats.com/garage-floor-tile/perforated-flow-drain-garage-tile.php
Carpet Tile Modular Squares: https://www.greatmats.com/carpet-tiles/carpet-tiles-raised-gmats.php

The fastest to install without border strips were the Carpet Tile Modular Squares at just under 33 minutes. Adding border strips to all four sides added another 14 minutes.

100 square feet of perforated garage tiles without ramped borders took just over 38 minutes. The addition of 40 ramped border pieces and 4 corner pieces upped the installation time by about 13 minutes.

And a 10x10 foot area of Max Tile Raised Floor tiles took about 45 minutes to install - without beveled borders. Borders for all 4 sides increased installation time by 17 minutes.

Consider these product when installing a portable dance floor, trade show booth, exhibition area or any other time where repeat installations may be needed or when airflow beneath the flooring is desired.
