Let's discuss considerations when choosing horse stall mats.
Traditional stall mats are 4x6 feet in size and 3/4 inch thick. They are available with either an interlocking edge or a straight edge and are most commonly used indoors for barn stall and aisleways.
Most stall mats are made of vulcanized rubber which is extremely durable. If used to floor a gym, be aware that re-vulcanized stall mats often carry a stronger rubber smell than rubber flooring intended for gyms.
Interlocking stall mats are design to prevent separation over time and are perfect for presized stall kits in sizes of 10x10, 10x12, 12x12 and larger sizes.
These mats can also be cut on sight for custom installations.
Horse stall mats should be installed over a hard, flat surface such as concrete or compacted crushed rock. Crowning the subsurface will allow water to drain away from the surface.
