Raised Floor Tiles for Basements
These modular floor tiles can help you to quickly transform your basement into an attractive, usable space. The tiles create a beautiful finish suitable for a living space, a work space, or even a multi-purpose area.
Max Tile raised basement flooring tiles are ideal for use in areas where you need some air circulation beneath the floors. If your basement leaks or tends to hold moisture, these tiles can help to prevent the buildup of mildew and mold which can occur with other, more solid flooring types. These raised floor tiles for basements allow both air and water to circulate beneath them, rather than trapping moisture. Circulation promotes drying and a healthier environment. If you are installing tiles in an area where leaks may occur, then do not use an underlayment.
Dance Floor Tiles
This modular tile is a popular option for dance floors, both temporary and permanent. Because these tiles can be assembled and removed, you can create a portable, temporary dance floor for events, performances, and more. They can even be installed over carpeting.
Alternatively, you can economically create a dance floor in the comfort of your own home.
These tiles are finished with a low maintenance, high quality 3mm thick vinyl laminate top. This highly durable surface is scratch and wear resistant, and even includes a UV protective coating. These tiles won't need refinishing and despite hours of practice, they'll still look great.
Court and Athletic Flooring
Create a professional looking athletic court with these modular tiles. The selection of wood finishes contributes to a beautiful, eye-catching finish suitable for indoor basketball courts, gym floors and more. This non-absorbent tile can even be painted with court lines.
The durable vinyl laminate top provides plenty of protection against scratching and wear, so your new court will continue to look great despite rigorous use.
Additionally, you won't have to worry about the costly investment of repeatedly refinishing the floor.
Because these tiles lock together tightly, they'll hold together and will not separate like other flooring tiles tend to do. When installing these modular tiles for athletic courts, we recommend using a 3 to 6mm rubber underlayment to provide shock absorption, increase comfort and muffle sound.
General Room Flooring
Raised floor tiles make an attractive flooring for rooms both within your home and in public venues. Homeowners have used these tiles to floor bedrooms, living rooms, offices and more. These tiles have also been used to floor church halls, community spaces, public offices and other commercial spaces.
Because the tiles are waterproof and allow water and air to flow and beneath them, they're ideal for bathrooms or kitchens, where frequent spills may happen. They create beautiful, professional floors for other spaces, like dens, bedrooms or hallways. With the available ramped edge pieces, you can create a clean, finished edge if you don't want to do a wall-to-wall installation. And because installing these tiles is easy, you can floor your rooms yourself without having to bring in a professional.
These tiles are durable enough to withstand the weight of furniture, and their vinyl top is UV ad scratch resistant, so you can confidently install them even in high-traffic areas of your home.
Garage Floor Tiles
Many people have used these raised floor tiles in their garages to create clean workspaces. Since the tiles allow air and moisture to circulate beneath them, they can be used even in garages where leaks may be present.
With a wide choice of attractive finishes, these tiles can be an excellent way to quickly revitalize your garage, or transform it into a multi-purpose space. Whether you want to get work done, convert your garage into a man cave, establish a space for working out, or use your garage as a dance studio, these modular tiles can convert the space into just about anything you desire.
Aerobic & Exercise Flooring
These raised floor tiles can also serve as aerobic and exercise flooring. They're easy to install and remove, so you can use them as either temporary or permanent flooring in your home. Because these tiles have a durable vinyl protective coating, they can easily withstand repeated use and will still look great.
When installing these floors for an aerobic or exercise use, we recommend that you add a 3 to 6mm rubber underlayment. This underlayment will add cushion and shock absorption properties for a more comfortable workout.
You can rest assured that these tiles tightly interlock, so they will not separate or start to pull apart no matter how hard your workout session.
What are the benefits?
- 12x12 inch tile size is easy to handle and makes for a smooth installation
- 8 different finishes allow you to choose the exact appearance that you want
- Durable top commercial grade vinyl surface keeps this tile looking great for years
- Removable design allows for repeated installation and temporary use
- Tile design allows water and air to flow underneath, helping to prevent mold and mildew growth
- Tight fitting tiles stay secure; there's no worrying about tiles pulling apart or gapping
- Optional ramped border edging creates a clean, finished edge
- Tile can be cut to fit for wall to wall installations
These raised floor tiles are a great option for a DIY project. They easily interlock together with no tools or glue required. To connect the tiles, place them on a hard surface. Then align the tiles with the nubs on top of the loops, and step on the tiles with your foot to lock them together. It's easy, fast, and simple, and a single person can easily floor a room.
When assembling the tiles for a sport or court floor, we recommend using a 3mm to 6mm low density rubber underlayment for additional cushion, comfort, noise and shock absorption. Avoid using an underlayment in areas where leaks or moisture may occur, like in basements.
Once assembled, these floor tiles make for a tight-fitting, secure floor surface. If using them for temporary purposes, you can disassemble the tiles and store them until you need them again.

Hi- I have a garage that was finished in - we installed carpet padding and carpet over the concrete. I am now looking to add something in there that will provide a better workout surface. Will this product work with a carpet backing? Also, I'm not going wall to wall - are there edge pieces to clean up the outer edges? I'm going to install roughly 50 square feet. Thank you
I am going to use this product in a garage/hot tub room. will it be a good product to use in this area ?
I am considering installing this as a mat in my office for my office chair to roll on. But it would be installed over carpet. Will this product work on carpet rather than a hard concrete floor?
How do you recommend ramping cut sides? Unfortunately my area is 15 1/2 x 15 1/2 and there are 3 sides with doorways so at least one of them will be on a cut side
Can I put my pool table on top of this flooring?
I'm looking to install a flooring for my daughter to practice ballet at an advanced amateur level. Will I need a subfloor? If a subfloor isn't needed, will this work on top of the carpet or do I remove the carpet & place it directly on the plywood underneath?
I have an old crt tv that weight 240 pounds would this flooring be able to hold this tv on a stand?
Is this a good flooring product for my basement floor that my son can practices dribbling his basketball? We want to make the floor look like a basketball court.
We can get a steady trickle of flowing water through our basement in really heavy rains (once or twice a year or so). Will the edging let this trickle under or direct onto the top of the floor?
I want to use it for my bedroom , but i've read everything and it doesn't say anything about rooms. Does it work well with bedrooms?
We are finishing a basement bedroom, and looking for floor options. Could these also be used as a subfloor to lay carpet on top of? We can't find any publicly available subflooring for basements that provides the water and air channel underneath, only the systems sold by specific vendors.
Can this tile install over Super TUFF-R or Owens Corning FOAMULAR in basement?
Should I put something under this if I am going to put it outside? What do you suggest I use underneath it, if anything?
For a basement room, is it best to put the raised tile without anything underneath? So that if there is slight water seepage after a rain, it will dry faster? Also, if there is only a slight amount of moisture, is it necessary to pick up the tile and dry the cement? Or will it evaporate because of the raised floor?
I took a chance ordering this in that I really had no idea what I'm doing. It is working incredibly well. We've had a moisture problem in the basement for years and I could not figure out how to make the space more livable for our son. It's perfect. He loves it. And the best part, he installed it without me knowing it when I was at work. Highly recommended product. I'll be ordering another patch as soon as I get the laundry room done.
super easy to install and seems very durable. over a large space it doesn't look very good as a finished floor. too repetitive and a bit artificial looking. but covered strategically with area rigs will be a great flooring option for a basement.
great stuff and material, best of all easy and fast to install.
We have a multifunctional playroom, thanks to dance tiles from Greatmats.
These floor tiles look fantastic in our workout room! Installing the tiles over carpet was a bit challenging as they do not ''snap'' together easily. I flipped the tiles over and placed on plywood and used a rubber mallet to ensure a good inter-locking binding. I also noticed that there is a pattern on the tiles, which is nice to make it appear like real wood. I sorted tiles so that the pattern would flow instead of the sporadic look.
Love this floor
After looking at all of our options, we elected to use your great flooring for 2 projects. Our Beach Room was completed about a year ago, and we decided to do the basement bathroom with the same product. The results are outstanding.
Very good product, met my expectations in every way!!!

We installed this floor last fall as part of a remodel of most of our house, including this dance studio. Now that the remodel is done and the room is cleaned up, I can say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this floor! So many awesome things to say about it:
1) Installation was so easy it's crazy. Once the underlayment was down, we just set a few pieces in place at one time and then walked around and snapped them into place. It was even a little fun. We did sometimes have to give it a sharp thwack but, even so, installation was simple. The hardest part was bending over repeatedly to lay new ones but there's no avoiding that.
2) The floor is warm on our tootsies in a room that we keep cold.
3) Barefoot, socks, or sneakers, we have no problems at all. The floor isn't too sticky or too slippery. Side note: it is absolutely in place; no movement at all.
4) Because of the underlayment and the sprung quality of the floor, it's really comfortable to dance on. We use the studio for Zumba, in addition to belly dance, and high-impact moves don't hurt us at all.
5) And ... it looks awesome! This floor is beautiful and I'm so proud of it! Wish we had done it years ago!
Good quality product that installs fairly easily. My daughter is enjoying her new home dance floor!
Awesome product! I really haven't had this much fun in a household project in a long time. They go down in minutes. I put them over 1/2 inch foam rubber (at GreatMats recommendation) for a home gym. The floor looks great and has just the right amount of cushion. It is hard enough to bounce a basketball or hold up a heavy treadmill. Yet is also has some give, so a nice surface to walk on and do exercises. (I put a foam rubber mat on top to do situps). I wouldn't slam down heavy weights from a high height, but other than that, I think it can handle anything. The look of the product (I did maple) is great. It has wood grain, set in the tiny plastic 1 foot square. It won't fool anyone into thinking it is actual hardwood, but there was no grain repeats and it just looked nice--like formica.
Floor was easy to assemble, but takes up a lot of volume (3 carts to cover 40 x 14 foot floor) Needed smaller carts than what was recommended as the cart from Great Mats does not fit through standard doors nor elevators or into small storage closets. Floor itself is a bit slick, dancers reported slick conditions, but that could just be from first time use. I also received reports of visible scuff marks, but our students returned the floor so I have not seen them.
Elegant product for our home gym while still providing the soft feel since we put ours on top of our existing carpet. If going that route you'll need to use a tile or some other hard surface underneath just to snap the pieces into place, being that the soft flooring doesn't allow for the connection; but once done it seems to work fine (although make sure to position heavy equipment stress points on the portions of said tiles where they connect that way over time you won't have a lower piece adjacent to another etc.).

We used the floor for our first event yesterday. Everyone loved it!
This flooring is not appropriate for aerobic activity at all. It's hard and slippery with a cheap Shiny finish. do not buy for fitness applications.

Our church is in a 165 year old building which is built into the side of a hill (like a barn so both levels have ground-level entrances). As a result, we had recurring troubles with ground water entering the basement when we got heavy rains. After the previous laminate plank flooring was destroyed by the water issues, we finally pulled it out, had a waterproofing company install a drainage system, and installed Max Tile Raised Floor Tile. We've had a few heavy rains since and have not had any water problems, but we are satisfied that if we ever do, the new flooring will help minimize any issues. On an everyday basis, the floor looks great and is easy to keep clean. Everyone loves it!
At the beginning i was skeptic about the product because i needed for a salsa event i was afraid that it will break or separate in the middle of the performances and renting a wooden dance floor was really expensive but it hold it very well my event was successful it is pretty good product some of them where damage on the shipping but i got them replace right away and to add customer service was excellent
