Wood Grain Vinyl Planks With Wear Layer

Whether installing these faux wood laminate planks in a vintage farmhouse, modern home, restaurant, urban apartment, or office building, they will fit in nicely with the existing decor.

The printed layer is the key to generating the realistic design these offer. In addition to the random colors in each plank, the manufacturer added wood grain lines and knots. Each plank has painted bevel edges to enhance the feeling of a wood plank.

The overall design of these vinyl planks will have visitors to the house believing this is a real hardwood floor at first glance.

The printed layer receives protection from a 30-mil wear layer to prevent scuff marks and excessive wear, even in areas of high foot traffic. Additionally, the wear layer delivers water resistance, further protecting these planks in busy areas where snow and rain may track indoors.

Attached to the underside of these planks is a 1.5 mm thick layer of foam that delivers just the right level of cushioning for those walking across the floor, while also cutting down on a little bit of noise.

To carry through on the fun speakeasy theme of this flooring, each color has a name resembling an alcoholic drink.

Tips for Installing SPC Vinyl Plank Flooring

Our SPC vinyl plank flooring uses a simple click and lock installation system that allows almost anyone to install it without the need to hire a professional.

When installing these planks, avoid placing them over foam, rubber, or cork subfloors, as these will be too soft to support the planks. Subfloors of concrete, wood, or gypsum are far better materials for this brand of SPC vinyl plank flooring.

Each plank has a 7 inch width, so the layout will go quite a bit faster than with thinner planks.

Start in one corner of the room with the first plank. Allow an expansion gap of 5/16 inches from the wall or any fixed objects in the room. These vinyl planks will not expand much in higher temperature and humidity conditions, but there could be a slight expansion.

This is a floating floor design, so installers will not need to glue or nail the planks to the subfloor.

The edge of each plank has a tongue and groove design, allowing the planks to fit together tightly without the need for glue. Installers should hear a slight click sound when they lock the pieces together.

When reaching the far end of the room, the installer will need to cut the plank to fit. Use of a power miter saw or a laminate cutter should provide a clean cut for the best results.

When starting the next row, avoid having the short ends of the planks line up with the seams on the planks in the adjacent row. The installer may need to cut the first plank in the new row to create the desired stagger.

Maintenance and Care

To receive the desired level of longevity from this SPC vinyl plank flooring, only install it in indoor areas with temperature and humidity control. It needs to remain in rooms with temperatures primarily between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity levels primarily between 35% and 55%.

This is a long-lasting floor when cared for properly. It carries a limited lifetime structural warranty and a limited 30-year commercial wear warranty.

For routine maintenance, sweep the LVP with a broom or use a dust mop on it. If using a vacuum cleaner, stick with a brush or felt attachment on the head. Do not use a vacuum with a beater bar head.

For areas with spills or pet accidents, clean them up as quickly as possible. Use a neutral pH floor cleaner product to take care of stubborn soils. Using a harsher cleaning product could void the warranty on the floor.

Use floor protectors underneath heavy furniture legs or when sliding furniture across the floor to prevent dents and scratches.

Maintenance

Sweep or dust mop your floor once a week or more with an approved floor cleaner. Spills, pet accidents, or tracked in dirt should be cleaned immediately. Never clean or wet mop with water, water may damage floor. Use a wood floor cleaner, do not use harsh abrasive cleaners.
