These colors and patterns do not have a structured look to them, delivering the same kind of randomness people expect to see in a vintage hardwood floor.

Durable Vinyl Floor for Multiple Use Cases

Our customers often choose laminate wood flooring for an install case where they want the lower cost of vinyl with the high-end look of hardwood.

These planks will work in almost any setting, including in a residential kitchen or bathroom, as well as in any commercial location or apartment.

Because of its WaterShield SPC Rigid Core technology, this floor will resist scratch and scuff marks from pets. The rigid core also carries a high level of stability in the floor, ensuring it can stand up to even the roughest conditions.

The urethane finish on the wear layer protects the flooring well, allowing it to maintain its impressive design for many years after the installation finishes.

The materials carry a number of safety features too. The planks are phthalate-free. They carry a GreenGuard certification, which means they meet some of the most stringent standards for chemical emissions and for indoor air pollution. This creates a healthier indoor environment.

The manufacturer added a 1.5 mm layer of foam underlayment to the underside of each plank. This foam delivers shock absorption and cushioning for those sitting on or walking across the floor. It also cuts down on noise generation.

This floor carries a limited 35-year manufacturer's residential finish warranty, a limited 15-year commercial wear warranty, and a limited lifetime structural warranty.

Installation Tips for Our Laminate Wood Flooring

The edges of each plank have a tongue and groove design that clicks together during the installation process and locks in place.

Installers do not need to add glue to the interlocking edges to maintain the integrity of the installation. This model has a floating floor design, which means installers should not glue or nail the individual planks to the subfloor, either.

Within the carton of vinyl planks, installers will find random widths of 4, 6, or 8 inches. This randomness contributes greatly to the mimicking of a real hardwood floor, which sometimes uses planks of varying widths.

For the best installation results, start in one corner of the room. Maintain a 1/4-inch expansion gap between the edges of the flooring and any walls or fixed objects. This vinyl material will expand and contract slightly in areas where temperatures and humidity change.

Work across the room in a row, attaching a new plank to the short edge of the existing plank. When reaching the far end of the room, the installer will need to cut the final plank to fit in the remaining space.

Avoid using any cut piece that’s shorter than 8 inches in length to maintain the integrity of the overall floor. If the installer will end up with a space shorter than 8 inches, it may require cutting the preceding plank too to split the difference.

Be careful when laying out the individual planks. Do not line up the seams on the ends of the planks in adjacent rows, as this could lead to instability. If needed, cut a plank to make sure that the seams don’t line up with each other.

Maintenance and Care

For general cleaning needs, stick with a broom or a dust mop.

Customers may run a vacuum cleaner over the top of this laminate wood flooring, but it is best to avoid any vacuum that has a beater bar head. Stick with a vacuum that has a brush or felt attachment for the best results.

When choosing to clean the floor with a wet mop, always use a neutral pH cleaning product, diluted with water as instructed on the cleaner. Do not use cleaners with bleach or harsh chemicals, as this could result in damage to the flooring.

If using the engineered vinyl in a room with multiple windows, be certain the windows have coverings to block some sunlight from entering the room. Excessive UV exposure could leave the flooring faded.

Maintenance

Sweep or dust mop your floor once a week or more with an approved floor cleaner. Spills, pet accidents, or tracked in dirt should be cleaned immediately. Never clean or wet mop with water, water may damage floor. Use a wood floor cleaner, do not use harsh abrasive cleaners.
