Multiple Carpet Patterns Available

Easy-to-Install Carpet Squares

Clean the subfloor before applying the peel and stick carpet tiles with pad. Remove dust and dry debris that could affect the ability of the adhesive to make a secure contact with the subfloor. If you mop the subfloor, allow it to completely dry before beginning the installation.

When preparing to lay out the tiles, the manufacturer recommends placing these tiles in a dry lay layout before removing the protective backing. Using the dry lay first makes it easier to figure out where you may need to make cuts to go around stationary objects or to fit tight to the wall before exposing the adhesive.

Use a utility knife and a straightedge to create a clean cut on the tiles. After making the cuts, the installer then can begin attaching the tiles to the subfloor.

Remove the protective backing from the tile to expose the adhesive. Because the manufacturer applies the glue to the backing at the factory, installers do not have to worry about making a mess by applying adhesive themselves during the install process.

In some instances, the tiles may slide slightly on certain types of subfloors. The adhesive may not be as permanent as you want. In a situation like this, installers can create a more permanent feel to the carpet square installation by adding carpet tape around the perimeter of the layout.

For a more thorough cleaning process, customers can perform a DIY job with a carpet cleaning machine. It is best not to over-expose the carpeting to water, but the water resistant backing on the carpet will prevent small amounts of water from leaking onto the subfloor.

Should someone spill liquids on the flooring, customers should clean them immediately. Use a cloth rag and clean water to remove the spill.

Because of the peel and stick backing, customers have the ability to pull up a single tile that has excess soil and clean it separately from the rest of the layout. They could even replace it with a new tile if the old tile will not come as clean as they would like.
