Customer Reviews For rubber gym floor at Greatmats:
Most Common Product Questions For rubber gym floor at Greatmats:
I am wanting to convert my garage into a dance studio room for my daughters and am looking for flooring that is reasonably priced and will protect them from the hard concrete. Would you recommend this flooring? My main concern is that they will be able to turn on the floor smoothly. Thanks!
This high density foam material is designed as an underlayment for home dance floors, we can recommend the foam tiles for a first layer, then cover with a finised marley vinyl dance flooring surface.
Would you put these tiles directly over ceramic tile in a basement? Would it ruin the floor?
Its ok, you can install this foam tile on any hard flat surface.
can this be put directly under laminate flooring?
Yes this would be fine.
If you use as a sub floor for a dance studio, do you need a layer of plywood on top before you lay the Marley floor?
No you will not, the marley can be installed directly over this high density foam tile.
What is the life expectancy got these floors?
Depending on the type of use, 5-10 years or more.
Can these tiles be used directly over concrete basement floor without any overlay for child's dance and play area?
Yes this tile can be installed directly over concrete.
Can this tile go over thin carpet on concrete? Then lay Marley on top? Trying to add cushion over concrete and cannot afford sprung flooring yet.
I would recommend our Flat top court tile over the carpet, the marley. For more cushion place 1/2 inch foam under the flat top court tiles. Using foam over carpet then marley on top might not work.
Could you put epoxy floor paint on these foam tiles and makes it a dance floor?
No, we do not recommend epoxy used on the foam tiles.
Could you lay vinyl roll flooring over the top of this (concrete slab first, then this, then vinyl roll) to use as a dual-purpose space for office and Zumba dancing?
The Adagio marley can be installed over the foam tiles, over concrete. The marley and foam are not to be used with furniture over it.

Is this foam ''fast'' enough to do pointe and turns?
We do not recommend this subfloor for pointe. It can leave divots in the marley.
I’m making a workout room that will also serve as a dance room for my daughter. I want to do the entire room that is in my basement with these high density tiles directly on the concrete floor. A portion of this room will be set up for my treadmill, bike, and some weights. The other portion will be covered in the Marley flooring for my daughter to dance on. My main question is my treadmill, bike, and a few dumbbells. Will these high density foam tiles be strong enough for that equipment directly sitting on them? Thanks!
The treadmill and equipment can sit on the sports plus foam mats but they most likely will make an indention in the tiles. They will not make the equipment unstable or have a ''rocking'' feeling. You should not drop weights on them.
