Most Common Product Questions For rubber gym floor at Greatmats:
what does tb stand for in the description
The 'TB' in wall padding stands for Top Bottom. The attachment lips are on top and bottom.
Are these good for HIIT style aerobics and burpees that require lateral movements? Workout machines treadmill and spin bikes and weight racks will also be in the same area. Will these cause indentations?
These will hold up well for all of the above. Just keep in mind that rubber flooring can be a bit grippy on the skin. It will not indent under exercise equipment.
When did you institute the 15 tile minimum requirement? That seems a bit high, considering 9 tiles covers 100 sq. ft.
Great question. Consider the Home MMA foam tile in a 2x2 ft tile size for smaller areas. The 1x1 meter tiles can only ship via freight delivery and are designed for larger commercial areas.
Does this help with floor noise? I have downstairs neighbors that are always brooming my ceiling because of my boys jumping around and am trying to find a solution. Please let me know. My floors are hardwood. Leyna
Yes this would help, its a very thick and durable foam tile.
Are the edge peices angled toward the floor to assist with avoiding trip hazards? If not can you supply?
We do have a beveled down edge piece that is available as an add-on product. The edges supplied with the tiles are not beveled, please contact customer service for additional information. We have an image of the beveled edge option we can provide.
Are these difficult to cut to fit odd shaped rooms?
This tile can easily be cut using a sharp utility knife. You may find this 1x1 meter foam puzzle mat installation video helpful in that department.
What is good for repairing punctures in these mats? Have three holes to repair that were made from Staves impacting the floor.
Great question, however we do not have a great answer, you could try guerilla glue in the cut areas to hold the material back in place.
Does this foam become slippery when wet or sweaty?
Most surfaces will be more slippery when wet. It's best to use when dry when possible. These tiles may be a little more slippery when wet depending on the shoe type or use with no shoes.
Are these mats too soft for doing Karate in addition to Ju Jutsu?
They are ok for kids and karate. They can a bit too soft for some adults. Here is an example of one customer who does use them for karate.
I am thinking on installing these mats in an area that isn't climate controlled. What temperature range can these mats handle?
These foam mats will shrink in the cold and will expand in the heat, they do require a stable climate environment.
Hi, really love these mats and continue to order more as we gain more opportunities to expand. Is it safe to use diluted bleach to disinfect these mats?
Yes - very diluted bleach is ok for cleaner, also Pine-Sol is commonly used.
How exactly does the ordering work? im a bit confused.

I need advice, I have laminate flooring I want to create space for my son (he is 6) for mma practice. To maximize the useful area I'd like to also be able to use the same space for p90x (if I ever get myself motivated) what mats do you recommend for this diversity to hold up for the p90x lateral movements yet be ok for my son's practice too?
We have a home version of the Grappling MMA Mats here: https://www.greatmats.com/products/home-grappling-mats.php
So how many tiles per order ?
You may order any quantity over 15.
I installed this in my basement and love them, but I tend to get a lot of static electricity when I roll around on them. Any ideas on how to reduce the static?
You could try using a humidifier in the room or damp mopping the mats.
What does each tile measure? I need to cover an area of 6ft x 8ft and what would be the price? Thank you!
Each tile is 3.28 feet by 3.28 feet. To cover a 6x8 area, you'd need 6 tiles. The pricing listed above is per tile.
Does this comes in a bundle? Like a pack or is that I have to buy separately?
This is purchased by requested mat quantities.
Can this product be ordered in one color?
I'm sorry. It cannot.
Random qustion what if I got body slamed or landed on my back doing a drop kick would I get hurt?
These mats have been tested and have a ASTM fall height rating of 4 feet, protecting against serious head injuries. They do not prevent all injuries.
Are these mats also good for CrossFit workouts?
The surface will likely wear faster if doing CrossFit workouts on this. It will hold up but really isn't designed for that. Usually, Plyometric rubber rolls are used for CrossFit workout areas.
