What does a properly prepared surface consist of?
A hard flat surface of concrete, asphalt or similar, or 3 to 4 inches of compacted and leveled crushed stone.
Do they get hot in full sun?
Black will get warmer than lighter colors, the tiles can absorb heat and they are designed to be used with shoes. The heat of the tiles will be determined by the climate. Not as hot as asphalt would get.
Can this be installed with the StayLock Perforated tiles? We are installing the tiles in a 7' x 3' area on which a small slide would be placed and are attempting to determine if this slide mat can be installed to take the place of a few tiles at the base of the slide. Thank you
I suppose the two different materials / products could sit side by side, however they are both different thicknesses.
Can you build a fire pit on it! Is it heat resistant?
I would say no it is not.
Can it sit on top of a flagstone patio without slipping in case kid tries to jump off the swing onto the patio?
Great question, that depends on the kid.
I am debating whether to purchase the 1'' thick mats or the 2'' thick mats to be installed directly in the earth where we now have grass. Which would you recommend and why?
The 1 Inch mats are not fall height rated. The 2 inch mats have a fall height rating of 4 ft. Both mats will stay in place over grass.
