Most Common Product Questions For rubber flooring roll at Greatmats:
Does the recycled rubber that these tiles are made from contain anything harmful to children? Is there any information regarding the safety of the material?
We dont have any saftey data per say, the recycled rubber material is from truck tires. Generally kids don't lick or eat the playground tiles, however they could come into contact with their hands.
Can you bounce a basketball on this surface?
Perhaps, most likely yes, however we dont have such experience. Review our blog about <a href='/court-flooring-tiles/easy-ways-to-build-your-own-basketball-court.php'>basketball flooring</a>.
Can you cut the tile to shape it around a pole or something similar? Also, does the playground surface have to be flat...meaning can the product bend slightly?
The subsurface is best when very flat, and the tiles can be cut to fit around poles and obstacles.
Can the mats be printed with floor game designs such as hopscotch graphics?
We do not have experience with printing on this type of outdoor rubber playground tile.
Can You install it over a dirt area.
The installation instructions state that this tile requires a base of 4 inches of crushed stone or similar.
How durable is it with animals such as dogs?
That is hard to say depending on the dog. The rubber playground mats are hard similar to a car tire, but not indestructible. Dogs claws could scratch the surface.
Can you make something to surround a 14' round inground trampoline? Looks ideal but don't see any curves.
These rubber tiles can be cut to fit as needed.
What is the rubber stuff on playgrounds?
Playgrounds will have rubber tiles (like these), rubber shavings or a poured rubber.
Can you put these under a swimming pool liner
These tiles should not be used beneath a pool liner. A waterproof material should be used instead.
Can this product be used as decking? Such as a balcony or on the flat roof of a garage to be used as a patio?
Our Sterling Roof Top Tiles in 2'' thickness would be a better option for over a roof patio. Here is a link to some options: https://www.greatmats.com/shop/cart.php?m=search&q=sterling2inch
