No, this product is not vulcanized rubber.
Will installation of rubber mat over wood deck cause wood to rot?
Good question, the rolled rubber should only be installed outdoors with a full glue down installation over a flat surface, not sure about the wood deck. I would consider a modular perforated tile to cover a wood deck.
Would this product work as flooring around a jacuzzi? It's an indoors jacuzzi sitting on a cement slab.
This would be fine, the rubber is not very absorbent.
Could the rubber matting be used outside around a poll, instead of say rock or mulch?
This product in the rolled rubber is for indoor use. We can recommend an outdoor patio rubber tile for outdoors.
Will this work well under an exercise bike and on carpet? What thickness should I get?
Yes this product can be install under an exercise bike or similar exercise equipment and is generally recommended to be installed over a hard flat surface. 1/4 inch thickness would be very good. If installing over carpeting use a rubber sheeting below the rubber to protect the carpet.
I have a squash court inside my home and want to protect the unvarnished wood floor from damage if I were to put tables, chairs, people in that space. Which of your products would you recommend?
We have gym flooring protection sheet vinyl material from 10 oz. up to 27 oz. weight that is designed for large scale gym floor protection for such uses as you describe.
Would it be appropriate to use this product as a portable cusion option? I realize there are portable tiles, but I want to cover ~750 square feet for a few hours, then pick it up, a couple time s a week. Rolls seem more efficient for this application.
I would not call our rolled rubber a cushioned product in general, its hard like a car tire. Please contact our customer service to discuss your application and the best product options. The rolled rubber is portable, as you could roll it up and put it down as needed.
Will this work as stall mats?
Generally stall mats should be 3/4 inch thickness, rolled rubber is not generally used for stall mats. Rolled rubber can be used for installation on the walls in the horse stalls.
will the rubber ''wick'' gradually and cause the top of the mat to get wet, if basement floor gets occasional dampness?
The rubber will not wick like concrete.

Not so sure, if you glued the rolled rubber down to the existing rubber it would be best, but the rubber is only 1/2 inch thickness max and the horses really need 3/4 inch rubber.

I would like to use this to put in the bottom of my dog crates . They come with plastic trays that crack and break to pieces in no time plus I think it would be more comfortable for my dogs . Yes, in this case because of grout line, go with 3/8 inch thickness.

would this material @ 1/4'' thick be ok do use to cover a basement that has a concrete floor already?
That would depend on what the area will be used for. If you are covering a large area, we suggest a full glue down installation for the 1/4'' rolled rubber.

This rolled rubber is designed to protect the sub floor from equipment and weights. It is hard, like a car tire. It does not offer cushion for your aerobic work outs. Contact us for recommendations.
Can this be used on walls and ceiling? Can you order thinner lighter mats?
We have customers that have used these on walls in horse stall applications or axe throwing businesses. We do not recommended applying them to a ceiling. The rolled rubber is made in 1/8'', 1/4'', 8 mm, 3/8'' and 1/2''.
Does this product need seam sealer for long lengths like 100 Lf. or more in a commercial application?
Seam sealing is not necessary and even discouraged.

Rolled Rubber is made in 4 ft width and custom lengths of 15 ft and longer. The order minimum of 100 SF. It is not recommended in wet areas or for outdoor use. If used outdoors, we recommend a full glue down.

We do not carry 8 foot wide rubber rolls, but we have many rolled rubber products that are 4 foot wide with custom lengths. So you would be able to cover that size space with just one seam down the middle of two rolls.

Are your mats suitable on graveled work areas of #57 gravel. The application would be on gravel at the work bench in a barn. If appropriate, what thickness do you recommend for 100 linear/running feet.? Thank you.
We do not recommend installing rolled rubber over gravel. The gravel is packed and level, 3/4 inch horse stall mats would be an option. In which case we'd recommend the interlocking variety of these mats.

How about manufacturing a 5' wide rubber runner? Need a rubber floor piece for my pickup. I asked Weathertech if they would manufacture a rubber mat for our 2017-2022 Honda Ridgeline pickups and they said no because it already has a coating on the bed. I had a rubber bed mat on my previous Honda Ridgeline but the bed of this current series is longer and it's too short for this pickup. I feel confident that many of these bed rubber floors could be sold to us Honda Ridgeline people. I am a long time member of the Honda Ridgeline Owners forum and know there is much interest in a mat that will cover our Ridgeline floor. And, NO I don't want an offshore mat. Regards, Terry Purdy

I want to use this product in a home on the second level with plywood subfloor. Do I need to prep it in any way, paint etc.? Thanks
No additional protective layers will be needed to install rubber flooring over plywood. Just make sure that the subfloor is smooth and secured so you don't have edges of the plywood popping up. Irregularities in the subfloor surface can show through thin rubber rolls as they contour to the surface below.
