Customer Reviews For ground protection mat at Greatmats:
Most Common Product Questions For ground protection mat at Greatmats:
How do you prevent the mats from slipping or space opening up between the mats?
If tile shifting is a concern we would recommend an interlocking tile option, we have several in 1/2 inch thickness. If the non-interlocking tiles are installed wall to wall they will stay together. Double sided carpet tape may also work in some installations.
Do they smell like rubber like horse stall mats do? Will they off-gas VOCs?
This product uses a low-VOC binder, so the smell will be less than most horse stall mats. With that being said, all rubber will have some smell that dissipates over time.
Can it be installed over carpeting?
Potentially yes. For indoor or outdoor installations over carpeting, an interlocking option would be best in order for the tiles to stay together without gluing the tiles down.
Can this product be installed on flat dirt? Also, what is the critical fall height for this product? Lastly, if I am looking to cover a 200 sq ft area, what would the pricing be?
The tiles require a solid flat sub surface. Dirt is not considered acceptable. A compacted crushed stone base will be your most cost effective option if you are starting with dirt. A 3.5'' tile is rated for 8' and 4'' tile is rated for 10' ASTM critical fall height certification. Please contact sales for a complete quote with installation accessories and freight.
