Whether seeking to create a surface for playing tennis indoors or outdoors, count on the various tennis court tiles from Greatmats to deliver excellent performance and durability.

For an outdoor installation, we have perforated tiles that allow any rainwater to drain through to the ground underneath, avoiding the formation of slippery puddles. For an indoor court, we offer solid surface tiles that resemble hardwood flooring or that feature multiple color options for the best looking space.

Size and Shape Options

The majority of our tennis court tiles make use of a hidden interlocking design on a tile with dimensions of 1 foot by 1 foot. By using an interlocking system on the underside of the tile, rather than a puzzle-style edge, installers receive the full dimensions of each tile. There is no interlock loss.

Our 1x1 tile for sale is an easy size to handle, which gives customers the option of performing a DIY installation. Installers do not need special equipment to move the tiles into place or to install them.

The perforated outdoor tennis court tiles weigh roughly 1 pound each, while the solid indoor tiles weigh around 1 to 2 pounds each.

The tiles range from 1/2 inch to 5/8 inch in thickness.

Material Options

Our tennis court tiles made for outdoor use consist of polypropylene plastic or PVC plastic. Both are highly durable materials that deliver excellent performance for sports workouts.

Our tiles made for use indoors consist of either polypropylene plastic or a vinyl layer over the top of a plastic base. These also have a high level of durability that allows them to stand up to repeated uses without showing wear.

Each material has an extremely firm density rating, which is ideal for playing tennis. Players want a true bounce of the ball in this sport, similar to what they would receive on a hard concrete or clay surface, and our flooring delivers this level of performance.

Customers may paint lines on these tiles after installation to create the boundaries of the tennis court. You also can put up a net when you have anchors and posts at the edges of the flooring layout.

Pattern and Texture Options

Multiple colors and patterns are available with this flooring.

The vinyl-topped tiles frequently contain a simulated wood grain pattern that looks like a traditional gymnasium floor. Multiple shades of brown are available. We also offer a faux gray wood floor and a faux stone floor in this vinyl flooring.

The PVC and polypropylene floors are available in several different colors, including:
  • Blue
  • Gray
  • Red
  • Green
  • Yellow
  • Pink
  • Orange
  • Gray
  • Brown
  • Black

Multiple shades are available within each color family for those customers who need to find the perfect color.

None of these tiles have a textured pattern across the top. However, the outdoor tiles use perforations that extend through the entire thickness of the tile. This allows water to drain through to the grass in the backyard or the concrete or gravel in the playground.

The perforations do not affect the integrity of the tile.

Common Use Options

Both homeowners and commercial entities choose to install these tiles for athletic workouts and games, including tennis.

A homeowner may create a tennis court in the backyard using our perforated tiles. Or the homeowner may create the court inside a barn or another type of outbuilding using either the indoor or outdoor type of tile.

For a commercial gym, school, YMCA, or other kinds of fitness facilities, these tiles work well for installation indoors or outdoors.

Some facilities want to create multi-sport flooring with these tiles. They can set up a tennis court for one workout before switching over to basketball or volleyball for another type of workout.

Installation Options

The hidden interlocking edge on our tennis court tiles ensures a greatly simplified installation process. There is no need to hire a professional to put this flooring together.

Line up the loops or hooks on one tile with the tabs on an adjacent tile, and then pop the two together. Repeat this process for all the tiles. The process goes significantly faster when multiple people work together.

Should you ever need to return to the subfloor, you can pull the tiles apart just as easily as they went together.

Cleaning and Maintenance Requirements

For the tennis court tiles made for outdoor use, cleaning them is an easy process. Just rinse them with a garden hose and sprayer attachment. If desired, customers can use a leaf blower to eliminate dry debris, like leaves and sticks.

For the solid tiles made for use indoors, use a broom or vacuum cleaner to eliminate dust and other solid soils. You also can mop the flooring using a common household floor cleaner, diluted with water as per the instructions on the cleaning solution.

Allow the tiles to dry over a period of a few hours. Bring in box fans to speed up the drying process, if required.
