Horse stall mats deliver a safe environment for horses, creating a cushioned space that’s far less stressful on the delicate joints in a horse’s legs and hips than a bare dirt surface or a cement surface. Rubber mats and tiles are available in many different coverage sizes and thickness measurements, ensuring you can find the perfect option for your horse’s needs.

When you want to create a large coverage space, understand that equine mats can be extremely heavy. This may create some problems when you’re seeking to order and ship these mats over long distances, as you could pay almost as much in your shipping cost as you do for the product.

Greatmats helps solve this problem by shipping its horse stall mats from warehouses in different locations across the United States. With a warehouse that’s near our customers, we can save on shipping, passing the savings to customers. We also are able to employ fast shipping on many of our equine products, placing the product in your hands as quickly as possible.

Mats for stalls.Horse mats can range in size from 2x2 feet to 4x6 feet. By placing a mat in the stall, you can prevent the horse from pawing at dirt in the stall, while providing some cushioning. Rubber stall mats also make mucking stalls much easier than that doing the same work in a dirt stall.

You also can use horse stall mats in a wash bay. Some of our mats have perforations or specially designed surface textures in them, allowing water to run through the holes in the rubber to the subfloor, or drain it can drain away. This is safer than allowing water to pool on top of the mat, creating a slippery area that could be dangerous for the horse or the horse’s handler.

Typically, mats for equine use are available in thickness measurements of 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 inches. Thicker mats cost a bit more, but they’re also more durable and provide better support than a thinner mat.

Interlocking tiles. Tiles that can be assembled using puzzle style edges are popular choices for our customers because, once they’re assembled, the interlocking seams between them almost disappear. This creates a smooth surface for the stable area, reducing the risk of a horse or handler tripping over a loose seam.

You’ll assemble several interlocking tiles or mats when creating a safe floor in the barn. Because thick rubber can be extremely heavy, having smaller tiles is a nice way to be able to handle and position the pieces when you’re working by yourself.

Interlocking tiles work to create a portable surface for your horse. Maybe you take your horse to shows, and you want to be able to control the type of flooring in the horse’s stall. Carry these tiles with you and assemble the floor before bringing the horse into the stall.

Those who want to create rubber floors in trailers can use these tiles too. If the horse will be spending a lot of time in the trailer, traveling to various locations, having a cushioned rubber floor inside the trailer can keep the horse’s leg joints fresher.

Premade kits. Kits to create horse stall mats are another popular option among our customers. With a kit, you can select the exact coverage area, and all of the pieces you need are included and ready for installation.

Some of our most popular interlocking tile kits for horses will provide coverage sizes of 6x12, 8x10, 8x12, 10x10, 12x12, and 14x14 feet.

Other use cases. Some situations with horses call for a specialty type of rubber flooring, and we have products to meet those needs too.

When foaling, specially designed rubber mats provide a cushioned surface that the mare and foal need. Foaling mats will have a waffle style pattern on the underside of the mat, which increases the cushioning properties of this type of mat.

Some horse owners will choose to use foaling mats to help a horse with a leg or hip injury recover faster, thanks to the extra cushioning in the flooring.

Some people choose to hang a horse mat on the side of a stall to protect a horse who likes to kick at the walls. The thickness in the mat provides a bit of extra protection for the walls of the stall.
