Size and Shape Options

Our SupraTile airport flooring has an official size of 19.75 by 19.75 inches. Because it uses a dovetail-shaped, puzzle-style edge, its square footage per tile is a little smaller than you may expect at 2.7 square feet.

When ordering the tiles, calculate the desired square footage. Then divide the result by 2.7. We do recommend ordering about 5% more tiles than this calculation shows. Should you need help determining how many tiles to order to cover a particular area, please contact the Greatmats customers service team.

The puzzle edges fit tightly together after installation, which virtually eliminates the visibility and mark of the seam in the layout.

Each tile measures 7 mm in thickness (equal to about 0.275 inches). An individual tile measures 5.5 pounds.

Material Options

When seeking a type of commercial, warehouse, or airport flooring that will survive heavy foot and small vehicle traffic, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) material is a popular selection. PVC has a slight flexibility and cushioning to it, which simplifies installation.

Additionally, PVC is extremely durable. It is resistant to oils, chemicals, and water. It does not show damage from abrasions or daily wear and tear.

With the dovetail interlocking edge design, the connected airport flooring tiles can support up to 20,000 pounds of weight without pulling apart at the seams. The PVC also will not show indentions, even when parking heavy vehicles or equipment on the tiles.

The PVC tiles have a 20-year limited manufacturer warranty.

Pattern and Texture Options

These tiles contain a pattern that’s molded into the surface of the PVC material. This is an extremely subtle pattern that resembles a leather or slate finish.

Customers can select between two dark, neutral colors of black or dark gray in these tiles. These are ideal colors for high traffic areas and areas where vehicles are in use, as the darker colors hide soils and reduce the frequency with which you will need to clean the floor.

Common Use Options

Because of the toughness and longevity of these tiles, they are an ideal selection for use in areas where heavy traffic patterns occur. Because they will not soak up water and because of the traction that PVC flooring offers, they will prevent slips in areas where moisture may appear.

For example, this airport flooring is ideal for use in areas around security checkpoints, as it can stand up to a constant flow of people walking and standing on it.

Other uses for this flooring at the airport include in common walkways through the facility and in airport hangars. Military installations may even use these tiles to create a slip resistant and durable type of flooring for vehicular and foot traffic around aircraft or in office buildings.

It works well in vehicle repair facilities or in car dealership showrooms, as it can support a significant amount of weight without buckling. Warehouses also can use this flooring successfully.

In a residential layout, customers may use this flooring in a workout room, as it yields a lightweight option versus rubber flooring. Yet, it is able to cut down on sound generation and provide slip resistance, similar to rubber floors.

Installation Options

Installation is an easy process with these tiles, especially compared to a heavy roll of flooring.

Where a large roll of floor may require multiple people and different types of equipment to move the roll into place, these tiles have a lightweight design that make them easy to carry and maneuver into place.

A single person could perform the installation, if needed, as the tiles pop together easily. Just line up the dovetail-shaped tabs on one tile with the slots on the next tile and press the edges together. They will remain tightly connected without the need to add glue to the edges.

Cleaning and Maintenance Requirements

Our PVC airport flooring is extremely easy to clean. Start the cleaning process by removing dry debris with a push broom, traditional broom, vacuum cleaner, or leaf blower. In heavy traffic areas, removing dry debris should occur at least daily.

Clean with damp mop, hot water and common household floor cleaner.
