Size and Shape Options

Each leather texture tile from Greatmats measures 1.66 by 1.66 feet, creating 2.7 square feet of coverage area.

Because each tile uses a hidden interlocking system, you will receive the full coverage area you expect to find from each tile. You do not lose any coverage area because of a loss to a jagged interlocking edge.

The final layout will simply look like square tiles, rather than jagged edges. This creates a feeling of luxury in the flooring, allowing it to work in a variety of locations and use cases.

Each tile measures 5.5 mm in thickness, equal to about 0.217 inches. These are thin tiles that only weigh 3.4 pounds apiece, which simplifies installation. Yet, they have an impressive level of durability, offering a 20-year manufacturer warranty.

Material Options

Our leather texture tile makes use of a PVC plastic material. This offers quite a few advantages, as PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is resistant to water, chemicals, oils, and other substances.

PVC is usable in both commercial and residential locations, as it has a high-quality look and feel that fits in someone’s home or in a customer-facing location at a business. The molded faux leather pattern delivers an eye-catching design.

But our leather texture tile has significant durability as well, allowing it to work just as effectively in an automotive repair garage or in a warehouse. Versus vinyl or foam flooring, PVC is far more durable and can stand up to far tougher usage conditions.

Pattern and Texture Options

The leather texture tile has patterns molded into the surface that resemble actual leather. The pattern will not wear away when the tiles are subject to significant foot traffic or traffic from small vehicles and passenger cars.

Customers can select among solid colors of black, light gray, or dark gray in these tiles. These neutral colors are useful in areas where foot traffic frequently occurs, as the darker colors will hide soils better than brighter colors. Customers do not have to clean the tiles as frequently.

This design uses a hidden interlocking system that is the same, regardless of the color of the tile. This means that installers can mix and match colors to create a checkerboard pattern or another pattern in the final layout.

Common Use Options

Because of the combination of durability and eye-catching design in these tiles, they are usable in a wide range of areas.

For a residential customer, the tiles often appear in a basement layout for a family gathering area or for a workout room. These tiles can cut down on sound from weight machines or from machines like stationary bikes or treadmills.

Even when placing heavy workout machines over the top of these tiles, they will not show abrasion or impact marks. PVC is resistant to these marks.

For a commercial layout, customers can place these tiles over stained or cracked cement subfloors without the need to make repairs first. This is a common type of installation for warehouses.

Installation Options

These tiles use a simple interlocking connection system that allows for a DIY installation if desired. There is no requirement to hire a professional to complete the layout of the tiles.

Line up the dovetail-shaped tabs on one tile with the slots hidden on the underside of an adjacent tile and connect them together. By using a dovetail shape in the leather texture tile, installers are free to just pop the tiles together without adding any glue to the edges. The dovetail edge holds the tiles tight.

You do not need to glue the tiles to the subfloor, as the weight of the full layout should hold the tiles in place without shifting.

Cleaning and Maintenance Requirements

To clean just sweep or vacuum them to remove dry debris. It’s important to remove dust and other particles on a regular basis to prevent them from grinding into the flooring and causing staining.

When you need a more thorough cleaning process, you can mop the tiles using a common household floor cleaner diluted with warm water. Allow the tiles to air dry. For a large coverage area, you can run a floor cleaning machine over the top of the PVC tiles, as long as you leave it in a gentle setting.
