Paver Tiles, Outdoor Patio Tiles, Outdoor Rubber Tiles, Home Backyards
Greatmats offers one of the easiest to install and most economical rubber pavers on the market today with its Rubber Patio Paver Tiles. These lightweight, American-made rubber paver tiles are excellent for outdoor patios, walkways and back yards for starters. The 100 percent recycled rubber will not freeze or crack and are designed to handle extreme weather fluctuations, including heavy rains.
Surface Design and Water Drainage
Each Rubber Patio Paver Tile features a brick pattern on one side and architectural design on the reverse side. The grooves on both sides help channel water off the surface of the paving tiles no matter which side you choose to use on top. This provides an excellent non-slip patio or walkway surface no matter what the weather is like. The durable and flexible material also provides a comfortable surface on which to walk with or without shoes.
Size and Weight
Rubber Patio Paver Tiles are some of the lightest weight rubber pavers available anywhere. At just 3/4-inch-thick, the square outdoor rubber tiles measure 16 inches across and weight just six pounds each. The lightweight nature of the patio pavers make it easy for virtually anyone to transport and install. You can cover a 533-square foot area with just 150 pounds of materials.
Greatmats Rubber Patio Paver Tiles are available in three earth tone color options - red, brown and gray. Create a solid color rubber patio or walkway and alternate rubber paver colors for a unique pattern. Order these rubber pavers in increments of 25 tiles and have fun with your layouts!
Recycled Rubber Material
The 100 percent recycled rubber material is made from ground up car and truck tires and is extremely durable. Despite the relatively thin construction of the pavers, they are guaranteed to last for five years and have a life expectancy of much longer, generally closer to 20 years. These tiles are non-absorbent and UV treated, making them resistant to the damaging effects of heavy rains, moist soil and intense sunlight as well as harsh winter conditions. Keep in mind, however, that intense heat and sunlight can cause the rubber material to expand slightly.
Rubber Patio Paver Tile Installation Methods
The straight edges on Rubber Patio Paver Tiles, combined with their low weight construction, make adhesives a necessity to prevent the rubber pavers from separating, curling or lifting. The most common installation forms utilize glue down or staple down methods and are quite quick. Staple-down installations can be ready for immediate use, while those using glued down surfaces are advised to wait 24 hours after installation before using the surface.
Make sure to install the rubber paving tiles over a clean and dry hard, flat surface such as concrete, asphalt or wood. Do a rough layout of the area you wish to cover to ensure you have the proper number of rubber pavers and that you still like the planned layout.
Snap chalk lines as guides to keep straight seams.
Glue Down Installation
For glue-down methods, begin in a corner or against a wall and work in small sections. Apply a polyurethane adhesive to bottom of the paver and press in place. Then gently tap the paver tiles into place with a rubber mallet for proper adhesion. Continue in small sections until your desired coverage area is complete. Should you need to cut a tile to fit your space or ship, cut through the tile using a sharp razor knife and a making a series of scores. This will give you the cleanest edge.
Allow glue 24 hours to cure before using your new outdoor rubber surface.
Staple Down Installation
If your installation takes place over a wood surface, 1 inch staples can be used in place of polyurethane adhesives. Since staples do not require time to cure, once all staples are in place, you can take advantage of your new rubber patio surface immediately.
Some natural weathering may occur over time with this product, but it will not affect the pavers safety or performance during its warranty period. Once your pavers are installed they will provide years of maintenance free beauty to your patio or yard.
These rubber pavers are design for use under foot traffic and patio style furniture. They are also durable enough to withstand vehicle traffic but may become stained from rubber tiles.

Our MX Play and Patio Rubber tiles, which weigh in at 16 pounds per tile and measure 2 feet across, offer a heavy-duty alternative to the outdoor rubber paver tile. Glue-down installation is recommended for MX Play and Patio Rubber Tiles, which are not intended for indoor use when pigmented. Manufactured from recycled rubber under the highest quality of standards, MX Play and Patio Rubber tiles come with a 15-year limited warranty and qualify for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) points. If installing on a rooftop, consider our Sterling Rubber tile. These 2 feet by 2 feet tile weighs just over 19 pounds and is equipped with interlocking connections and a 10 year limited warranty. Sterling rubber tiles are available in 6 colors.
Although Rubber Patio Paver Tiles are already relatively lightweight, an even lighter weight alternative to the rubber paver tiles are polyvinyl chloride (PVC) outdoor patio tiles, which weigh approximately 1 pound per tile, depending on the style and brand. With an interlocking tile design, you can be sure installation will be a snap. Designed for use in wet areas, the PVC outdoor patio tiles use a perforated top as part of their drain-through technology to ensure your tile surface is always dry. The PVC material does not absorb moisture and comes in solid colors of light gray, blue and terra cotta.

I have an uncovered front concrete porch and my plan is to cover it all with 16 x 16 rubber pavers. I'm going to glue them down with SikaBond Pro Construction Adhesive - polyurethane. After the first paver is glued down I'd like to place a clear small bead of sealer and/or sealer adhesive along the first paver edge(s) and butt up the second paver, continuing on wards with the remaining pavers using the butting up sealing method. Question is what sealer and/or sealer adhesive is recommend? I do not want water to make its way underneath the pavers.
