Realistic Look

With the 1.75-inch yarn height of the polyethylene fibers that make up the synthetic lawn, you'll receive a product that closely resembles natural grass. Our fake grass for backyard materials include a thatch pattern, which provides added body. This also reduces the amount of infill required.

The primary backing is a polypropylene plastic that provides the anchor for the individual yarns of the astroturf yard, holding them in place tightly.

We recommend that you use silica sand as the infill base material for our astroturf yard when installed outside.

Maintenance is easy for the outdoor turf, as you can just rinse it with water. Rainwater will often take care of the cleaning process for you automatically with an outdoor installation. To fluff up matted fibers, you can use a broom or rake.

Each roll of the turf has a standard width of 15 feet. The full roll of the outdoor turf product measures 100 linear feet, giving you a total coverage area of 1,500 square feet.

Installation

Outdoor artificial turf requires a base layer 4-inch layer of compacted crushed stone or similar compacted surface. The artificial turf will need to be off-loaded from the shipping truck by hand which requires two or more people. Artificial turf can be cut to fit if needed. Seam tape may be necessary if you are putting two or more pieces together. Turf will need to be secured along the edges with nails or staples.
